WebQuest Reflection
Zachary Sissel
This WebQuest assignment was very fun to do and one I really enjoyed. This would be
great to use in a Health class, as you could use it to help explain the food pyramid and
other nutritional information you wanted to go over. This would allow the students to
engage into the actual lesson as they navigate their way through the WebQuest.
WebQuest really does allow the student to dive deep into the subject as you have
already made sure the material they are looking up is appropriate and does not contain
any negative images or other material they should not be exposed to. This is the part I
really like about it. When they are searching the actual Web you never know what they
could find. You could really use WebQuest to help explain any of the Pillars and would
go great with all six as you could develop great lesson plans around them all. You could
make a great lesson using Character Education and allow students to explore videos on
proper etiquette on dining, social habits, etc. One thing I would change is maybe if it
was better explained on how to make rubrics and such on the WebQuest for grading
purposes. I seemed to have a little longer time establishing comfort doing it. I feel
WebQuest itself could expand on their webpage a little more and make it cleaner and
easier to navigate through and edit. It was a little slow running when I was trying to add
the Hyperlinks, and the main page is just one big blob, very scattered. Overall, this will
be a great tool to use in my classroom.
