• Cashier; received subscription payments, sold papers, cashed employee checks, balanced cash
drawer at end of day.
• Received and processed customer payments; prepared checks for deposit, got remittance ready
for posting to customers' account, balanced payments to remittance.
• Interacted with customer accounting system websites.
This position was held for me by the Controller/VP for two years because my position was being
eliminated due to company restructuring.
1994-2013
• Generated reports daily, weekly, monthly for executives that were used both for budgeting and
to know the state of the business in regards to Advertising at any given time. Gathered the
information to be used for these reports from several sources then entered onto Excel
spreadsheets that the Controller and VP/CFO & Business Manager had created in accord with
their needs for the information.
• Verified billing was correct on the Admarc billing system in accord with customers contracts.
Made any needed changes to the customers account to ensure accurate billing.
• Data Entry using the Admarc billing system as well as Excel spreadsheets.
• Researched customer payments.
• Kept files of contracts, govt. 501c forms, and state sales tax exemption forms to help ensure
customers were billed correctly.
• Worked with different departments to ensure the needs of customers were met.
• Customer Service- handled phone calls from customers and any request by mail.
• Worked with Admarc billing system, Lotus 1,2,3, Quattro Pro, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft
Word with no formal training. Learned to use each new system as it was installed in order to
fulfill job requirements.
• Created billing for commercial print clients.
• Special projects as needed for the Controller and Executive Team.
Promoted to this position while continuing to handle the duties listed below. Provided training to those
who took over, but continued to work with them and help out as needed.
1991-1994
• Tearsheets- provided customers with proof of advertising. Required pulling pages from the
newspaper and filing to keep all of a customers ads together for a month then mail the
advertizing along with billing statements at end of month.
• Worked with a team to help improve this process so that it could be done more efficiently.
• Co-Op - split customer advertising for reimbursement from manufacturers. Handled this entire
career at Statesman.

• Worked at various offices for Lawyers, Financial Institutions, Medical Insurance companies,
Computer Developers-filing, mail processing, data entry, etc. Handled what they needed help
with at any given time.
• Was hired by Austin American Statesmen after 6 months of working for them as a temp.
