Objective
FdSc Food Science and Technology student currently seeking work experience or fulltime
employment within food industry.
Skills:
Healthand safety-Within my course we wear personal protective equipment, this includes shoe
protection, hair nets and lab coats.
Laboratorywork-pHtesting of foodusing litmus paper, universal indicator paper and a probe. I
have tested fordifferent food poisons, by swabbing them onto an agar jelly and placing them in
different temperatures, pH and no oxygen. This enabled me to decide whichconditions the food
poisons wouldbe able to grow in.
Creativeskills-Withinmy ‘A’ level studies I researched a portfolioof dishes to create a range of
healthy meals.
Education
FdScFoodscienceand technology:
Food Safety-I am studying chemical,biological and physical hazards. This has enabled me to gain a
deeper understanding of the problems that can arise if food is not manufactured or prepared safely.
Food Science- I am currently researching water content, carbohydrates and pH in foodproducts.
Food Raw Materials- projects have included investigating: herbs and spices, rice and pasta, fruit and
vegetables, meat and fish. I have completed a report analysing the differencein vanilla types within
a crème anglaise

achievement throughout the year.
 I have had fullattendance since year 4 and I believe reliability, punctuality and
trustworthiness are essential for my part time jobs and future career.
Additional information
My main interest is cooking healthy foodon a regular basis. I have played for my localfootball team
since I was four years old. I take a keen interest in both playing footballand supporting my local
team Derby County where I am a season ticket holder. I have recently started attending a localgym
and I have a full clean driving license with my owncar. I am involvedin various sports and enjoy
keeping fit, whichhas strengthened my resolve to be able to create healthy meals that suit my busy,
sporty life-style.I used a variety of creativeskills to create a range of low calorie meals.
