4. MAIN PLANT EQUIPMENT IN TPP
NEED LUBRICATION
BOLIER AUXILLARIES LIKE
COAL MILLS,APH,PA FAN,FD FAN,ID FAN etc
TURBINE AUXILLARIES LIKE
MAINTURBINE BEARINGS,BFP, CEP,ACWP,DMCWP
AND CWP etc
GENERATOR AUXILLARIES LIKE
GENERATOR & EXCITOR BEARINGS
5. LUBRICATION OF POWER PLANT EQUIPMENT
NECESSITY OF LUBRICATION
To reduce friction and wear between two surfaces
moving relative to one another
To dissipates heat and act as cooling media
To prevents rust or corrosion, acts as a seal to
outside contaminants
To reduce force of friction there by reduction in
input energy

RECOMENDATION
Oil of viscosity class ISO VG 46 shall be USED
The oil shall be a petroleum product with or without additives to
meet the requirement of this standard.
The finished oil shall be clear and free from water, suspended
matter, dirt, sediment and other impurities.
The turbine oil must be capable of withstanding bearing
temperature of max. 130°C without physical and chemical
degradation.
The properties of the oil shall not be affected by centrifuging or
filtering
