This document is a paper about individualism and the romantic hero. It discusses how individualism emphasizes the moral worth and independence of individuals. During the Romantic era, longer lifespans and rising standards of living allowed for ideas like individualism and imagination to flourish. The Byronic hero archetype embodied individualism, being isolated, complex, and in inner conflict. Over time, the romantic hero in Gujarati films shifted from sacrificing their own happiness for society to prioritizing their individual happiness. Individualism is thus a key part of the romantic hero.
