• Every society is a unique product of its own
history and its relation to other societies.
Nevertheless, societies, in spite of their
bewildering variety, also have common
characteristics. They are social system, and
consequently require the performance of
certain universal functions if they are to
continue to exist

thinking, clarity in speech and writing, art of
living with the community, development of
national and international understanding etc
• Importance should be given to science education,
work experience, vocationalisation, use of
science in productive process etc
• The process of modernisation should be
accelerated
• Ordinary schools should be opened for social and
national integration
• Social and national services should be introduced
in the schools

Nevertheless, societies, in spite of their bewildering variety, also have common characteristics. They are social system, and consequently require the performance of certain universal functions if they are to continue to exist
