2. Father of microbiology.
He created an instrument which will magnify objects about
200-300 times.
He described very little animalcules now called as
“protozoa”.
He examined blood & some tiny microbes that are nothing
but Erythrocytes.
In 1676 he described protozoa, algae , yeasts & bacteria.
In 1683 he described morphological forms of bacteria , this
was the first recorded observation of bacteria.
Antony wan leewan hook(1632-1723)
3. He developed vaccination against small pox virus.
cow pox is a cattle disease.
He observed cow pox was not communicable from
one to another person.
He collected a cow pox virus. pusutle from Sarah
Nelms a dairy maid & transferred to healthy boy
James Philip. & he was infect with small pox virus.
The boy had immunity from small pox virus.
Jenner published his findings in june 1798.
Edward jenner
(1749-1823)
4. He demonstrated vaccine from Anthrax disease.
He observed that animals which die of anthrax.
Finally he succeeded in culturing & isolating in
aqueous humour liquid from eye eyes of the cow.
He repeated his experiment 20 times.
Koch postulates: Discovery of tuberculosis &
smearing method of bacteria & plate method for
isolating pure cultures.
Robert koch(1843-1910)
5. He discovered the first drugs called Antibiotics.
That Antibiotics is called Penicillium notatum.
One of the petri plate immediately attracted to him,
the bacterial culture there had been contaminated.
He conducted many experiments , then he identified
a common blue green mould is called Penicillium
notatum..
The first injection of Penicillium was given to one
person & he had acquired a staphylococcal infection.
Alexander flemming
6. Father of medical microbiology.
He disproved spontaneous generation theory.
He discovered pasteurization method partially killing
microbes.
He demonstrated rabbies vaccine , his founding is
greatly help to medical .
He discovered aerobic & anaerobic microbes.
Louis pasteur(1822-1895)
7. He introduced Antiseptic method.
He chose carbolic acid (preservative)as the
microbicidial agent.
The wounds healed in quick time by the carbolic acid
method.
Lister applied this technique many fastering wounds
& obtained similar results.
Later which come to known as “Lister’s antiseptic
method.”
Joseph lister(1827-1912)
