CHALLENGE:
• Ferrari was commissioned to provide a ventilation system for
a major global brand’s paper product factory in China.
• The end customer demanded a complete module consisting
of fan, motor and drive. Ferrari had previously being
accustomed to leaving the customer to select their own AC
drive solution.

SOLUTION:
• Ferrari selected MVR (Italian Siemens motor
distributor) to provide a drive/motor module.
• VACON®
20 X was selected due to its motor-
mountable capabilities. MVR specially developed
a flange to attach the drive to the motor.
• The rotatable keypad was also a benefit –
the motor was placed directly above the drive,
meaning the standard position of the keypad
would otherwise be out of reach.
• Twenty 2.2 kW VACON®
20 X drives were delivered
to the end customer with scope for further drives
in larger sizes to be used depending upon initial
success. The early signs are positive.
