2. Definition
• Computer hardware is the collection of
physical parts of a computer system.
• This includes the computer case, monitor,
keyboard, and mouse.
• It also includes all the parts inside the
computer case, such as the hard disk drive,
motherboard, video card, and many others.
• Computer hardware is what you can
physically touch.
4. Name of features are:
1. Monitor
2. Motherboard
3. Cpu
4. RAM
5. Expansion card
6. Power supply
7. Optical disc drive
8. Keyboard
9. Mouse
And some others.
6. Basic concepts of computer hardware
• Input/output: Refers to the process of getting
information into and out of the computer.
• Input :
Those part of the computer receiving
information to program.
• Output:
Those part of the computer that provide
result of computation to the person using the
computer.
9. RAM
• Random-access memory (RAM /ræm/) is a
form of computer data storage which stores
frequently used program instructions to
increase the general speed of a system.
10. KEY BOARD
• A computer keyboard is a typewriter-style
device which uses an arrangement of buttons
or keys to act as a mechanical lever or
electronic switch.
11. MOUSE
• A computer mouse is a pointing device (hand control) that
detects two-dimensional motion relative to a surface. This
motion is typically translated into the motion of a pointer on a
display, which allows a smooth control of the graphical user
interface.
12. Mother board
• It holds and allows communication between many of
the crucial electronic components of a system, such
as the central processing unit (CPU) and memory,
and provides connectors for other peripherals.
13. Hard disk
• A hard disk drive (HDD), hard disk, hard drive or fixed
disk[b] is a data storage device that uses magnetic
storage to store and retrieve digital information using
one or more rigid rapidly rotating disks (platters)
coated with magnetic material.
14. Monitor
• A computer monitor or a computer display is
an electronic visual display for computers. A
monitor usually comprises the display device,
circuitry, casing, and power supply.
16. USB FLASH DRIVE
A USB flash drive, also variously known as a USB drive, USB stick,
thumb drive, pen drive, flash-disk, or USB memory, [a] is a data
storage device that includes flash memory with an integrated USB
interface. USB flash drives are typically removable and rewritable,
and physically much smaller than an optical disc.
19. CPU
• A central processing unit (CPU) is the electronic
circuitry within a computer that carries out the
instructions of a computer program by performing
the basic arithmetic, logical, control and
input/output (I/O) operations specified by the
instructions.
