2. ABSTRACT
• In this project, a wireless communication system is designed and developed
for remote patient monitoring. The primary function of this system is to
monitor the temperature of a patient’s body, and display the same to the
doctor through RF communication. The specialist at a distance can monitor
the patient condition so that he can check the condition of the patient.
4. BLOCK DIAGRAM
THE TRANSMITTER TRANSMITS THE HEART BEAT
COUNT AND TEMPERATURE OF PATIENT.
DATA TRANSMITTED VIA GSM MODEM AS SMS.
TRANSMITTER IS PLACED NEAR THE PATIENT.
RECEIVER RECEIVES THE DATA.
RECEIVER IS PLACED AT THE DOCTOR’S SIDE.
5. WORKING PRINCIPLE
There are mainly two parts of the system one is transmitter and the other one is
the receiver.
In the transmitter, we have heartbeat sensor, and the temperature sensor.
All the sensors are connected to the patient
The microcontroller monitors the all the system in the transmitter and check the
patient condition then it sends the signal, so that the receiver will capture the
signal and will display the condition of the patient.
7. ADVANTAGES
Bridging the gap
between the doctor
and the patients.
1
Best to be used on
rural areas.
2
It is a multipurpose
so that overall
conditions are
easily measured.
3
Easy to operate.
4
Compare with
compact sensor it
gives better
performance.

8. DISADVANTAGES
• THIS SYSTEM CANNOT PROVIDE IMMEDIATE TREATMENT
.
This system cannot
provide immediate
treatment
1
Due to noise the results
may not be accurate
2 3
9. APPLICATIONS
• A set point can help in determining whether a person is healthy or not checking
his/her heart beat/ temperature and comparing with set point.
• Alarm can also be used in case of emergency
10. FUTURE SCOPE
Multiple parameters like blood pressure, retinal size, age and weight can be
included as controlling parameters in the future.
This system also developed by using advanced gsm and gprs technology in
future.
