2. Technology #1 – Research and Planning
Microsoft PowerPoint is a very ideal piece of technology to
use as it’s extremely easy to use and the user is able to make
a presentation that looks smart and even professional.
Due to the features
that PowerPoint has
it allows the user to
come up with many
combinations. For
example you can
make the background
various colours,
patterns and pictures
through ‘Format
Background’.
From using PowerPoint, it has allowed us to create high
quality presentations in order to exhibit our work.
Another nice
feature that
PowerPoint
allows the user
to do is to
create different
shapes and
types of lines.
3. Technology #2 – Research and Planning
The site Picasion.com is an online GIF maker. A GIF is a collaboration of images
played within a sequence similar to a video, however there is no sound.
1. The first step is to browse through
your photos, and select the ones you
want to use.
2. After that your GIF is then
processed and you will have the
ability to save the animation onto
your computer
3. You can now use your GIF on
programmes that support its use.
We used Picasion GIF maker for numerous assignments such as production photos, storyboards etc. We used it
because it was a way we could neatly organise our photos.
4. Technology #1 – Construction
The camera in which we used during the filming was the Nikon D3300. It has many benefits over using a
non-DSLR camera.
Key features of DSLR
cameras are:
- Program mode
- Custom functions
- Depth of field
preview
- Picture styles
- Back button focus
- Custom firmware
We used an 18-55mm VR II
lens when we were filming.
Features of this lens are that it
has a silent wave motor, an
extra-low dispersion and an
upgraded vibration reduction
making it a high quality
camera to shoot with.
The camera is fairly easy to use with it having pretty much the same layout of
other DSLR cameras with all of the buttons and components in about the same
region.
This is used to
record/stop
recording.
This is the dial for
changing mode.
(Automatic,
manual etc.)
5. Technology #2 – Construction
We used a YouTube converter for a variety of things for our opening title sequence. It allowed us to
get high quality videos/sounds from YouTube in which we could incorporate into our work. Of course,
the videos/audio that we took from YouTube was royalty/copyright free.
1. Choose the format you want to
convert in. Once selected hit ‘Start’.
2. The video will then begin
converting
3. The video will then be available to download or if
it’s the wrong video you can convert another video.
6. Technology #1 – Evaluation
We used YouTube in certain questions within our evaluation in order to explain key points in further
detail. We did this by screenshotting the clip with the ‘prt sc’ button.
From this screenshot, I can then crop it down further
in order to make it less distracting from the side
videos etc.
By using photos
alongside
explanations, it
allows us to
explain things
easier instead
of making the
presentation
viewer having
to go onto
YouTube or
leaving it up to
their
interpretation
of what
happens.
In this format it looks a lot better and
more professional rather than leaving the
sides on it.
