1. Question 6 What Have You Learnt About Technologies From The Process Of Constructing This Product?
2. Technologies we used We used a few different technologies. We used websites such as blogger for our planning and evaluating. We used Youtube to upload our videos. Facebook was used to allow people to evaluate our work. We did this as Facebook is a social network and it is easy to access your target market. We used our mobile phone in the video as a part of the mise-en-scene. We also used a camera to take photos of our animatic so we could upload it onto YouTube and blogger.
3. What technologies we used to produce our animatic? To do our animatic we first had to draw it. Once we had drawn our story board we then used an SLR camera to take pictures of each individual still. From here we put them into an order and exported them using premiere pro. like a stop motion animation. After we uploaded the media to YouTube and then embedded the video into our blogs.
4. Did blogging help us keep track of what we learnt? Blogging was used for all our planning. We uploaded our animatic onto blogger. We also used programmes on the computer to display our planning in different ways. I used Prezzi which was an interesting was of displaying research. It allowed me to add pictures and when I had finished I embedded the Prezzi into my blog.
5. The Camera Part of the equipment we had to use was the camera, we used an SLR camera when making our animatic and a film camera when filming our title sequence. We had already used a camera before so we knew the basic operations. When filming we left a gap before and after every scene in case the camera cut off some of our film. When we had finished recording we had to get our footage onto a computer.
6. Computer Programmes Computer programmes we had to use were Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe On Location, and Adobe Photoshop. To get our footage onto the computer we had to use on location to capture the clips and then save them onto the computer. Once we had captured all our clips we then had to open Adobe Premiere Pro. From here we had to create a new sequence and then cut and move our clips into a suitable order. This took quite a while as we had to find the clips we wanted cut them and put them together. It was in Premiere Pro where we had to create match on action shots and add music. Photoshop is used when we need to show title sequences as pictures, we can print screen the scene we want and make a picture compiled of different pictures. This is also how we make mood boards for our genre research.
7. Getting our video onto our blog When we had completed our video we had to save and then export the media. It was important to render the work area and make sure the media was and FLV file. Once it had exported we went onto YouTube. Once on YouTube we uploaded the video and this gave us the embed code that we used to put our video in our blog.
8. How has technology been useful in helping you produce a stimulating and interactive evaluation? When evaluating I had to find interesting ways to display the evaluation. I did a prezzi, a slideshow, a blog post and a video of the audience response. I felt this made my blog more interesting and not so boring. I also wanted to display my knowledge of media and I feel like I displayed that. My aim was to make my blog interesting and readable and I feel that by using different media it met those aims.
9. Bad things about technology... Technology does have its faults as well which can mean set backs. We had problems with On Location and Premiere Pro not working, this set us back and was rather frustrating for us. In our audience response video the lip- sync was out of time due to technical problems. The SLR camera would not work for a while when making our animatic. But most of our problems were down to programmes becoming unresponsive.
10. Technology Overall I would say technology was very important to making our blogs and video better. We had some problems but overall I feel using different technology helped us become more aware and now we know how to avoid problems. I also think that using different media in my blog has made it more interesting and makes people more willing to read it.
