Target Film Noir Fans 16-30 With Interest in Crime Genre
1. Who are my target audience? What are their interests?
2. As my film’s style is taken from that of films predominantly made in ther 1940’s to
50’s era, my audience will be slightly more mature, as they will appreciate the ‘old’
feel and aesthetic of the cinematography and style.
My film can also appeal to a younger audience as older styles and more manual
styles are coming back in and therefore, maybe a niche audience can appreciate
the aged style and story.
The predominant cast members are aged 16-17 so perhaps an audience of that age
and up will watch and enjoy my film.
My goal target audience is: 16-30 Years Old ( It’s wide, as described above. )
3. The main audience will most likely be male as the film portrays a predominantly
male and violent dark storyline, with a male detective being the focus.
The femme fatale character is also another selling point for a male audience, as
she will be portrayed purposefully as a promiscuous and dangerous character.
My intended target gender is mainly male, as the story is predominantly a
masculine tale and based on movies of a similar genre that, indeed target a male
audience.
4. My audience will most likely be cinephiles and those who actively engage media
and enjoy the old just as much as the new.
They might also be interested and / or fans of movies and games akin to The Big
Combo, L.A. Noire and other Noir genre medias.
They also might be directors and directors looking for new talents and perhaps
inspiration or an insight to first-time film making.
Mostly, though they will share an interest in the film noir genre and have an
interest in old or vintage styled movies.
5. My target audience would be interested in media like The Big Combo, L.A. Noire
and other Noir genre medias.
It’s also probable that they would enjoy the crime genre and style of movie, so they
may also enjoy films like The Godfather and Reservoir Dogs. As the literal
definition of Film Noir states that film noir are “stylish Hollywood crime dramas”,
I believe that my films audience will be attracted to the crime and criminal
aspects of my film.
Its mainly the aesthetic and quality of the film that would attract noir fans.
6. NRS:
B – C2 People with appreciation to well crafted and non – mainstream products /
productions
Young + Rubicam Classification:
Reformed, Resigned Mainly, as The Reformer looks for original material and sees
past base values of a movie and tends to come from a more mature approach. They
often take the movie far more seriously than others and enjoy it. They also will
actively take part in the medias consumption.
