4. MY GROUPS’S SEMINAR :
Our topic chose the topic – Difficulties faced by
siblings of disabled children which was one of a kind
and rarely discussed in educational scenarios
We discussed the below mentioned points in detail :
1. SIBLINGS BECOME OVERLY RESPONSIBLE AND
INDEPENDENT
2.SIBLINGS MAY FEEL NEGLECTED BY PARENTS
3. SIBLINGS FEEL IN THE DARK FROM PARENTS
AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
4. SIBLINGS EXPERIENCE MIXED EMOTIONS
5. SITUATION PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR
SIBLINGs
5. LEARNING FROM THE
SEMINAR :
Siblings of children with disabilities are at a
greater risk than average of
developing emotional issues, anxiety,
and stress. These problems are known as
internalizing issues, not obviously visible, and
may be an attempt by these siblings to hide
their problems; they may want to be well-
behaved or protect their already
overburdened parents. Other issues that
these siblings may face are peer problems, as
well as a lack of engagement in
extracurricular activities and academic issues
