Culture in the Digital Age
Documentary Feedback
Draft One
To evaluate my documentary, I asked people who fit the age range of my target audience to watch my
documentary and answer a few questions about what the thought about it, if it interested them, what they
enjoyed, what I could improve on and if they thought that my final piece fitted the brief.
The first question I asked my participants was if my
documentary interested them, to which all five responses said
the same and answered yes.
This shows that the main theme of my documentary (music,
how it started and how the digital age has affected it) appeals
to my target audience and would therefore be successful
amongst this audience age bracket.
A second question I asked was if they thought that my
documentary linked to the brief that we were given. Like the
last question all the recipients responded yes meaning that my
documentary is a good fit for what was described in the brief
and what BC England and BBC Three were looking for.
The next two questions I asked required the participants to create their own
answer, I did this so that they could tell me personally what they liked/didn't
like about my documentary.
The third question I asked was what specific aspects they enjoyed about my
documentary. My five responses were all roughly the same, two participants
said that it was interesting, one said that it appealed to them, one said that
it was factual, and another said that it appealed to them. Overall, this shows
that my documentary appealed to my viewers/target audience and was
entertaining while also factual.
The last question I asked was what I could do to improve my documentary,
the improvements that were suggested were mainly technical based and
these improvements I plan to act on to help improve my video.
