Tom Haase outlines his plans to present his digital products to the public. This includes creating an easily navigable website using Wix to display product images. He will also print physical copies of the products to showcase alongside the digital versions. Additionally, he will work with classmates to make the classroom a welcoming environment for friends and family attending the presentation.
2. Show Choices.
• For the show of my products, in the College classroom, I will be creating
an easily usable website (likely on Wix), where people can scroll through
my products images, on a computer. I will make the images large and bold
on the screen, making them easily viewable and accessible.
• I will also be printing out physical copies of my products, to show how
they would look printed out. I will be placing these physical copies next to
the computer that has my website on, therefore they know that they are
the same products and made by the same producer (me).
• In terms of hospitality, I will be working with the rest of my classmates (as
they will also be using the classroom for the show of their products to the
public) and making the classroom feel inviting to the friends and family of
the students, that will be attending. To make it inviting an idea I have, is
providing refreshments, such as water, juice, snacks (crisps etc.) and any
other suggestions from other classmates.
3. Physical Products
• As I mentioned briefly in the previous slide, I will
be printing out my digital products so I have
physical copies as well as my digital products. This
will show how my products look in real life (what
they were actually made for). This will allow me
to see if I produced good content and if I could
pursue this type of design making in the future. If
so, I could continue these products in future
projects, linking to my film cover and possibly
making a second film in the franchise.
4. Presentation Video
• To present my project to my class, I decided to create a video. This
allowed me to show off my video creating skills and aesthetic
abilities to the rest of the class. The use of a video can also be saved
for personal use, for example when I talk about previous projects, in
a future project, I can use this video to show the process I used.
Whereas if I presented it to the class by speech, then I can’t save
this for personal use.
• Creating a video is also a much more efficient way of showing my
process through my project, and explaining my choices and routes I
took etc. It also relieves some of the stress of presenting it in front
of a crowd, therefore will be more presentable and professional,
with less stutters etc., meaning I will likely get a higher grade then I
would if I presented it with a PowerPoint and speech.
5. Instagram Page
As you can see from the first screenshot below, I
already had a social media page, for the publishing of
my Photoshop and College work. This is mainly for
friends and family to view, however I have the page’s
privacy settings on ‘open to public’, therefore anyone
can view it. In the caption of all my posts, I also use
hashtags that relate to the product I created and
posted, for example for the film cover, some of the
hashtags I used were: #filmcover, #horror,
#photoshop, #graphicdesign. This means that anyone
searching these hashtags will be able to view my work,
as my post will appear in the train of posts using those
same hashtags. The use of these public hashtags has
resulted in many different occasions of strangers liking
and commenting on my posts and even following my
page.
Because I already had gathered a following on this
page, due to creating it and sharing it’s name months
ago, this made it more likely for people to view my
products and I know this has succeeded, due to the
liking of the posts from my viewers, as you can see in
the other screenshots of the posts (of my FMP work).

6. Emails
• On the next slide shows the emails I sent to 9 different professional production companies. One of
the companies was who I created my client work for, therefore I used this project as an excuse. For
the other companies I stated my name and what I was doing, and asked if there was any chance for
their opinions or advice. At the moment only 1 person has replied to me, which was Nick Power,
from Graphic Power, and I still waiting to receive his feedback.
• I think this is a good way to present my work, as professional graphic designers or design companies
could see my work, therefore my work will be recognised. This also gives me a chance to get
feedback and advice from a professional opinion, as well as it being recognised. This means I have
the potential to improve my work, which would make it more successful. I could also combine the
professional advice and the evaluation notes I have gathered to better create my work in my next
project. With the experience I have gained from this project and the advice I have gained, I have
high beliefs for my next project and I believe that it could succeed greatly.
• Some of these companies may not reply to me, as they won’t gain anything from this transaction,
therefore they may see it as a waste of time. This isn’t a huge deal because I don’t need the advice
and opinions from these professional people/companies, however it would be very useful and
appreciated. To lower the chances of this outcome happening (not getting a response) I contacted
many different people/companies, therefore there was a greater possibility of me getting a
response (which this has proved to have worked, as I have received a response).
8. Issuu
Issuu is a digital discovery and publishing
platform that enables anyone — from
independent creators to global brands — to
Distribute, Measure and Monetize their digital
content. It is a very popular platform, that
many professional designers use to publish
their work, as it is easily viewable and
accessible by the public. I have published my
work on this platform (as you can see at the
bottom) because of these reasons. This gives
my work a great potential to be viewed by
many members of the public, and even
professional companies/designers, if the public
appreciates the designs. I look forward to the
potential feedback, opinions and appreciation I
could receive from this publishing, along with
my other presentations of my work, overall
giving me a great potential to be recognized
professionally.
