Working title:
Sunrise: ghost stories.
Product’s Purpose:
Firstly I would want to inform the audience with my intro as I will summarise quickly of what the
podcast will be about. I will then introduce me and my friends to the audience as they would have
a better understanding of the environment. I will try make the intro entertaining with funny lines and
joyful music which will fit to suit the episode so for example I will include spooky but funny music to
make the audience understand the theme. I will then try and make the audience spooked as I will
tell a scary story from reddit while adding creepy music and sound effects however to keep it funny
we will add comedy throughout reading. Me and my friends will discuss the story and banter about
it keeping the audience entertained.
Genre:
I would say that my radio show would be a podcast/ghost story which could also be called a horror.
The reason it would be a horror is that I will be telling a ghost story while adding spooky sounds to
create an atmosphere such as wind, creaking doors, howling, whale, banging and screams. I could
also be calling it a comedy as will discuss the story with my friends with humour. For it to be a
podcast it will have to be all in one take and we won’t be using a script for the discussion. I will add
small jingles to make it look professional.
Content
My radio project will be podcast styled. I will firstly have an intro with me summarising the episode
and then playing music. I will then be telling a ghost story which I have found from reddit and to go
along with the story Ill add spooky sounds to create an atmosphere such as wind, creaking doors,
howling, whale, banging and screams. I will then add a jingle advertising the podcast. After the
jingle will discuss the podcast with my friends with humour. I will then end with an outro and also
music.
Audience:
My audience’s age range should be 15-20 as we may have strong language and the hosts of the
podcasts are around 16-18, which means the humour would relate around that age. Its will be for
both genders as the ghost story will effect both genders in the same way however all the hosts are
male which could mean that the humour would be different. The psychographic I chose is belonger
as my podcast wont be about changing mankind nor achieving dreams and goals. Instead it will be
very local and will be for enjoyable reasons. My podcast will be for any region however the hosts
live and Britain. The social class would be class E as I think they would be the most relatable and
suitable for my podcast. It is for those who are local, casual and have a lot of time in their hands in
their hands which suit class E.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
We will not add any offensive material, as we will only be discussing ghost stories. I will try not to
use any offensive stories.
I will restrict 12 and under as I we might use strong language and the ghost stories are going to be
dark and scary.
I defiantly wont offend any social and religious groups, as we will find suitable and non-offensive
stories. The hosts are also restricted to not mention anything offensive. To make sure we don’t, I
will listen over the recording and if we do say something offensive I will either cut it out or make the
podcast again.
Everything in our podcast will be royalty free or unique such as the music, jingles and our name.
My podcast will be very different to others as the topic idea has not been created before.
