This document discusses various verb tenses in English including:
1. The present tense which is used for present or habitual actions.
2. The past tense which is used for completed past actions and is formed by adding "-ed" or "-d" to regular verbs.
3. The future tense which expresses future actions and is formed using "will/shall + base verb form".
It also covers the present perfect, past perfect, and future perfect tenses which are used to discuss actions that began in one time frame and continue or are completed in another.
3. Is formed by the infinitive or base form of
the verb or- for the third person singular-
add s or es to the base form.
4. 1.An action that takes place in the present.
ex. Patricia takes piano lessons. (now, in
the present)
2. A constant , repeated or habitual action.
ex. She reads bestsellers all the time.
3. A general truth
ex. Steel is an alloy
5. 4. A permanent condition.
ex. Metro Manila lies in Luzon.
5. An action that will occur in the
future. However , you should provide
a word or clause that indicate future
time clearly in the sentence.
ex. We leave for Boracay next
weekend
6. denotes an action that was
completed entirely in the past. It
is formed by adding –d or –ed to
the base form(BV) in regular verbs
and has varied forms in irregular
verbs.

• He lived in Fiji in 1976.
• We crossed the Channel
yesterday.
8. FORMS:
1.ORDINARY FORM- formed by
adding –d or – ed to the base
form of a regular verb and varied
forms in irregular verbs
2.EMPHATIC FORM – did + Base
form of the Verb (BV)
3.PROGRESSIVE FORM – was /
were + V-ing
