What is a Noun?
• In the simplest sense, a noun is any word that
names people, things, animals, places,
events, or ideas.
• Jack Gleeson, the actor who plays
as Joffrey in Game of Thrones, was
the boy saved by Batman in Batman Begins.

Direct Object
A direct object often involves a noun that
receives the action of a verb. A direct
object appears after the verb. Direct
objects may be singular or plural.
