curriculum content
 Good Education – framing new curriculum
 Selecting the content
 Priorities of the content
 Present curriculum
 Drawbacks in selecting the content
 Framing main subjects – inter related subjects
Two problems
 To protect the scope and specificity of the
educational disciplines
 Accept the dilution of the power of the
curriculum by following inter disciplinary
approach
 Eclectic approach – selecting and organizing
the curriculum content adopting effective inter-
disciplinary approach
 either or polarity
Organizing curriculum content based on
experiences of children, their natural
curiosity, community environment and the
specificities of subjects
 Ideal education –real education
 Inquiry approach
a) Giving importance to children's experiences
b) Providing opportunities to express their natural
curiosities
c) Making students to envince interest to
understand, change and improve the prevailing
community environment
d) Developing students KASH and values of the
subjects
 Objective based learning
 Developing creativity
 Show concern care in eradicating social
issues
 Nurturing natural interest in learning
 Community based social identities like gender,
religion, caste and class
 Mutual sharing of social experiences
 Improving their language skills
 Improving their social interaction
 Provide appropriate educational activities
 Specificity of the subject should be preserved
Four basic factors
 The experiences of the children
 their natural curiosities
 Understanding social environment
 Preserving the specificities of subject
disciplines
