 Launched by The Ministry Of Human Resource
Development in 1974.
 Provide services such as Schooling, Health care,
Nutrition and Pre-school facilities to children under 5
years.
 ICDS does not include people with disabilities.

India.
 Implemented with the full support of the central
government.
 Provided financial support books, school uniforms,
transportation, special equipment and aids etc.,
 Resource centers were established in public schools to
fulfill the needs of special children

 This school based approach in the implementation
of integrated education with support and funding of
UNICEF.
 Running this programme was transferred to the State
Department Of Education in 1992.
 It was implemented in only 10 out of 29 states in
India
