Robot Reflection
At first I was very skeptical when told that I would be building a robot by myself because I am
not good with any sort of technology that has to do with making machines work. I found it very
fun once I was taught how to use everything that came in the box it taught me to think critically
because I had to try and figure out how to make the lights flash after the boat has stopped. My
robot I don’t think was that good but I feel that if I would have had more time to work on it, it
would have been a lot better and more creative. Creating a robot was a totally new experience for
me that I thought was worth while to do. Because it is not everyday that you get to build a robot
in class. It also taught team work because me and my partner had to learn how to compromise on
what we wanted our robot to end up like. I think when working in pairs it would have been better
to work together on not only the technical side but also the creative. It took away from the
project that we didn’t work together on everything. I still thought it was very useful to have a
partner on this because it is something that would be really difficult to accomplish without one. I
enjoyed learning more about technology and how everything works. I now have a better
understanding of how Hummingbirds work. Overall I think that is was a great activity that I
really enjoyed it was a lot of work but it taught me to think critically when putting wires together
to get something to move. Working with someone really opened my eyes to team work because
you really have to be patient with one another if you want your robot to succeed. It is necessary
to talk everything out and make sure every last detail is understood.
