3. INTRODUCTION:
•A paper battery is a ultra-thin energy storage and production device formed by
combining carbon nanotube and cellulose sheet paper
•Paper battery acts as both high-energy source and a super capacitor.
4. GENERAL LI-ION BATTERY:
•Generally Li-Ion rechargable batteries are used in mobiles, laptops and
most of electronic device.
•Primary functional componentsare:
1. – ve electrode (Graphite)
2. +ve electrode (CoO)
3. Electrolyte(Li salt in organic solvent)
•Chemical energy is converted into Electrical energy.
5. DISADVANTAGES OF LI-ION BATTERY:
• Corrosion.
• Temperature must be monitored.
• Not Eco-friendly.
• Ageing.
• Transportation problem.
6. CARBON NANOTUBES:
• Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are an allotrope of carbon.
•Carbon nanotube(CNT) is main concept behind paper battery.
•CNT’s exhibit extraordinary strength and unique electrical properties, and are efficient
thermal conductors.
•High tensile strength& packing density.
• No safety limitations for shipment ,packing, storage and disposal.
7. CELLULOSE PAPER:
•Cellulose is the major constituentof paper.
•Low shear strength.
•Bio-degradable & Bio-compatible.
•Non-Toxic.
•Reusable & Recyclable.
10. ADVANTAGES:
• Very light weight & flexible.
• Biodegradable
• Reusable & Recyclable.
• Durability.
• Rechargable.
• No Leakage & Over heating.
DISADVANTAGES:
•Low shear strength.
•Damages lungs when inhaled.
11. CONCLUSION:
•A Black piece of paper can power a small light.
• Flexible paper batteries could meet the energy demands of next generation
gadgets.
•The ambition is to produce reams of paper that could one day power a car.
•The paper battery was a glipmse into the future of power storage.
