As a manager for Southaven Cinema,I was in charge of hiring and
training new staff, as well as working to continuallyimprove the
customer service skills ofthe existing staff.
I was also instrumental in developing mutuallybeneficial relationships
with neighboring businesses and vendors alike.
While implementing various promotional plans,Iwas able to directly
compete with much larger theaters,in the area.
Bar Manager, SOGO Japanese Restaurant
Horn Lake, MS — December 2002- August2006
As the Bar Manager for SOGO, I was responsible for every aspectof the bar/
lounge area;including hiring and properlytraining bartenders,barbacks,and
servers.I was also the primarycontact, in regards to guestand vendor relations.
Accomplishments
Within my first month at SOGO, I was able to reduce the loss ofthe bar
from 40% to 7%.
I worked closelywith the various distributors to bring a new and effective
bar service program to the restaurant.This program included manyjoint
promotions with local sports teams.
I helped create a “destination atmosphere” for the area, featuring the
creation of a custom bar program that no other establishmentin the area
possessed.This provided a new and different environmentfor our
guests and exemplified a level of service that the area had not seen
before.
