2. WHAT IS
ADDIE?
• ADDIE is an acronyms that stands for analysis,
design, development, implantation and
evaluation. This model was frequently used in the
working environment for many years in training
and development. (Kopp,2014).
• The ADDIE Model was created in 1975 by the
Center of Educational Technology in the Florida
State University (Kopp, 2014).
4. DICK & CAREY
MODEL
• Dick and Carey is known as a system
approach which explores ten phrases
that examine the interrelationship
between instructional strategy and
desired learning outcomes(Bello &
Aliyu, 2012).
5.
6. SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE
ADDIE
&
DICK & CAREY MODEL
• Both the Dick & Carey and the ADDIE model share
some comparisons, such as they both are used as
foundations for other systems.
• Both models have a clear structure in each phase
which makes it easy to use, follow and understand.
• Both models identify the basic need to determine
what the learner already knows.
• Lastly, both the Dick & Carey and the ADDIE Model
differentiate the significance of launching goals that
are to be achieved in the learning process.
7. DIFFERNCES BETWEEN
ADDIE
&
DICK & CAREY MODEL
• The Dick & Carey model had 10 step sequence and the
ADDIE only has a 5-step sequence.
• The ADDIE model recognizes that there is a place for
assessment, while the Dick & Carey model identifies the
different evaluations.
• Dick & Carey model is mostly issued in educational
institutors however, the Addie model is used iin business
organizations.
• Addie is a Linear process while the Dick and Carey is
not.
8. ADVANTAGES OF ADDIE
&
DICK AND CAREY MODEL
• The Dick and Carey & ADDIE model are connected, and this help guide
the instructors to know what to do next. The instructors can understand
what to teach and can identify the methods to use when doing so.
• Both models offer a step by step process to contribute to the developing
training sessions. Acquiring the knowledge to the performance objectives
is crucial because it determines the goals and objectives of each lesson and
not only those of the overall learning experience.
9. DISADVANTAGES OF ADDIE
AND DICK & CAREY
MODEL
• Dick & Carey Model illustrates
that each step is important and
should be followed in the phrases
order which shows that is more
complex.
ADDIE model does not create the
opportunity for design creativity and
improvements. The design can be
expensive and time consuming because
it is not flexible.
