Director of Human Resources
Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A., Inc.
19001 S. Western Ave.
Torrance, CA 90501
Dear Director,
Thank you for your willingness to review my resume and consider me for future positions at Toyota Motor
Sales U.S.A., Inc. Please consider this letter and resume as my formal application presenting my
background, education, and experience.
I have over 18 years of experience in the automotive industry including product engineer in the Product
Quality & Service Support division at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Toyota dealership technician, high school
automotive instructor and FCA US Technical Trainer. As a product engineer, I oversaw product quality for
specific Toyota, Lexus and Scion models and was the Resident Engineer for the 2009 RAV4 new model
launch. Other responsibilities included monitoring warranty data and failure rates, reviewing customer
concerns, tracking trends, recovering failed parts for root cause analysis and analyzing field input for early
detection and early resolution of product quality concerns. I worked with the design engineers and
production plants to oversee quality improvements to specific components and then evaluate effectiveness.
The work has been a great teacher of organization, logistics, and developing effective interpersonal
relationships.
I am currently working for TTi Global as an FCA Performance Institute technical trainer in Portland, OR. In
less than a year, I am able to teach 65% of FCA core curriculum. I successfully planned 3rd
and 4th
quarter
schedules to decrease technician’s average days on the Interest list from 78 days to 45 days and am on
track to increase the number of dealerships that meet minimum training requirements from 68% to 85% by
the end of the 4th
quarter. I will also have provided training to 655 technicians with 125 teaching days by the
end of the year.
The skills and experience gained as a technician in the dealership, as an instructor of automotive skills to
high school students and dealership technicians, together with the knowledge obtained at the corporate
level provide me with a unique skill set. These skills, along with my core values of striving for continuous
improvement and respect for people, will make a positive contribution to your company. I would welcome
an interview and hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and
consideration.
Sincerely,
Seth McVea
