In week 1 of their FMP 2 diary, the student did context research by populating slides with information from their research. They created a mood board explaining how self-aware horror would affect their project and wrote about three filmmakers and the male gaze theory that inspired their horror project. The student also reflected on previous projects, analyzing what they had learned and what had not worked.

1. FMP 2 Diary Week 1
This week I did Context research, I was given a power point format
and I populated the slides with my research. I had to write my
reaction to this project. I made a mood board and explaining how it
will affect my project - it’s all about self-aware horror. The biggest
part of the project was writing about my inspiration. I filled slides
with information on three film makers of the horror industry who
would inspire certain aspects of my project, and then I wrote about
the main film theory that inspired my project (Male Gaze). Lastly, I
had to fill out slides on strengths, limitations and research ideas.
The last slide I had to make was the context statement which
required a lot of effort to make it detailed. I reflected on the
previous projects I have completed, analysing what I had learnt and
what hadn't worked.
