and engineeringsupport) anddesignedandmanagedone of the firstCSMgatheringstationsfor

I developedadatabase applicationtoenable the automationof the “Kinhill BusinessProcess”(KBP).

STUDY MANAGER(Contract)
Review of a coal seam methane facility in the Surat Basin in the vicinity of Chinchilla on behalf of
CS Energy. CS Energy commissioned a study on the capital costs and project operating profile for
potential coal seam methane. The project included the option to take coal seam methane gas
from three separate unitised fields and feed into a single central production facility whereby the
gas is exported to the Roma to Brisbane pipeline or to alternatively to a gas turbine.

This division was created to capitalize on Process and Industrial market segments not
previouslyservicedbyKinhill. Iwas appointedDivisionManagerinSeptember1994 and was
responsible for all personnel and projects conducted in the Brisbane office for this Division
including the Project Controls group.
During this period, I acted as the Project Director, Project Supervisor and/or Technical
Reviewer for a wide variety of projects conducted by the Division including the following

Cerro Matoso due diligence report; Queensland Nickel: Site visit to Northern Colombia and
report covering process and environmental risks to the Cerro Matoso Ferronickel mine was

Detail design and procurement of the product handling and general infrastructure and
services between Lump Sum Turn Key process plants, power plantand other facilitiesat the
$700 million Queensland Fertilizer Project, Phosphate Hill.
Servicesincludeddesign,procurement,constructionandcommissioningsupervision. The
projectteamwas responsible forthe areasof productstorage,handling andrail loadout
includingall roads,sewage,power,processandfirewater,plantairandcontrol throughout
the plant,bothundergroundandon mainpipe racks. The projectteamconsistedof upto
thirty-six designengineersanddrafters,aprocurementandinspectionworkforce of seven
and six fieldengineers.

Project Supervisor
Appointedtothe positionofProjectSupervisor,responsibleforthe overalldesign,contractual
requirements and financial performance of the following projects:
Mackay Refined Sugars —Sugarconditioning,storageand handling plant: Detaileddesignof
the above plant for the Racecourse Mill site, Mackay Harbour and Glebe Island sites. These
included a 5,000t sugar-conditioning silo, a 45,000t storage silo, fourteen 2,000t silos,
packaging plant and ship loader and unloader. The facilities are for the bulk storage and
transport of refined white sugar.
CSR New Farm Refinery, Brisbane — Refined Warehouse Packaging Station: Design,
procurement, construction management, commissioning of sugar handling plant and
packaging equipment for the upgrade of the New Farm Refinery.
September1991 to February 1992
SeniorMechanical Engineer
Final feasibility study for the Lihir Island gold project in Papua New Guinea. This study was
carried out in San Ramon, San Francisco for Kennecott Mining/RTZ Company. My
contributions included design, drawing review, specification preparation, and tender
evaluation for mechanical aspects of the 2.825 Mt/a gold processing plant.

SeniorMechanical Engineer,Kunwarara Preconcentrationand Beneficiation Plant
Detail mechanical design of a 2.5 Mt/a magnesite ore crushing, screening, washing and
grading facility for Queensland Magnesia (Operations) Pty Ltd. The plant included both low
and high-grade heavy medium separation circuits. Capital value $11 million.
ElectrofusionPlant- QMAG
Preparationof plantconcept,engineering,procurementandconstructionmanagementfor
the electrofusionplantlocatedinRockhampton,Queensland. The plantfeaturesspecially

1988 TO 1990
MINPROCENGINEERS PTY LTD
Lead Engineer for the neutral leach, weak acid leach and pre-neutralisation plants for
Pasminco Metals Electrolytic Zinc Refinery, Tasmania. Lead design engineer carrying overall
responsibility for the design of the hydrometallurgical leaching plants. Plant design was
undertaken concurrently in Brisbane over a two-year period by a multi-disciplined team of
seventeen draftsmen and five engineers. Key achievements in this project were in the
selectionof appropriate materialsincludingPVDFandFRPforthe acid service andthe design
of the now world standard segmented FRP thickener covers. Capital value $26 million.
1982 TO 1988
EVANS DEAKIN INDUSTRIES LIMITED
As DesignEngineer/Mechanical Plant, I wasinvolvedinthe preliminarydesignandpricingof
the following mechanical plant:
• Callide ‘B’ Power Station Coal Handling Plant
• Fisherman Island Wheat Terminal at the Port of Brisbane
• Brisbane Sugar Terminal at the Port of Brisbane.
During this period, I was also appointed Area Engineer for Loy Yang ‘A’ Unit 2 Power Station
Feedwater Heating Plant, in Victoria Australia. I was responsible for on-site design
modifications, contractor supervision, progress claims, manpower planning and assisting in
commissioning. Priorto mobilisingtosite,I carried out pipeworkdesignandstressanalysis,
vessel and heater design, and condenser design utilising proprietary computer software
including:
 Ampol Refineries,Lytton,Brisbane— FCCUGas Tail Expansionproject: Detail designof
pressure vessels,platformsandpipe supports.
1985 TO 1986
BROWN BOVERI CORPORATION, SWITZERLAND
As Design Engineer/Process Plant, I underwent intensive applied training in the design of
power plants and their components including:
• thermal designforfeedwater heating and condensing plants, and co-generation plants;
• thermal design of systems, feedwater heaters, direct contact heaters, condensers and
coolers;
• mechanical design of heat exchangers, condensers, water treatment plant and
demineralisation plants.

  • 5. 5 | P a g e 2001 OSD ENERGYSERVICES STUDY MANAGER(Contract) Review of a coal seam methane facility in the Surat Basin in the vicinity of Chinchilla on behalf of CS Energy. CS Energy commissioned a study on the capital costs and project operating profile for potential coal seam methane. The project included the option to take coal seam methane gas from three separate unitised fields and feed into a single central production facility whereby the gas is exported to the Roma to Brisbane pipeline or to alternatively to a gas turbine. 1990 -1999 KINHILLENGINEERS(nowKBR), MANAGERPROCESS AND INDUSTRIAL DIVISION,QUEENSLAND This division was created to capitalize on Process and Industrial market segments not previouslyservicedbyKinhill. Iwas appointedDivisionManagerinSeptember1994 and was responsible for all personnel and projects conducted in the Brisbane office for this Division including the Project Controls group. (1998) OCTOBER 1998 TO DECEMBER 1999 PROJECT MANAGER, WMC FERTILIZERS—MATERIALS HANDLING AND MINE INFRASTRUCTURE, PHOSPHATE HILL Detail design and procurement of the product handling and general infrastructure and services between Lump Sum Turn Key process plants, power plantand other facilitiesat the $700 million Queensland Fertilizer Project, Phosphate Hill. Servicesincludeddesign,procurement,constructionandcommissioningsupervision. The projectteamwas responsible forthe areasof productstorage,handling andrail loadout includingall roads,sewage,power,processandfirewater,plantairandcontrol throughout the plant,bothundergroundandon mainpipe racks. The projectteamconsistedof upto thirty-six designengineersanddrafters,aprocurementandinspectionworkforce of seven and six fieldengineers. February 1992 to August, 1994 Project Supervisor Appointedtothe positionofProjectSupervisor,responsibleforthe overalldesign,contractual requirements and financial performance of the following projects: Mackay Refined Sugars —Sugarconditioning,storageand handling plant: Detaileddesignof the above plant for the Racecourse Mill site, Mackay Harbour and Glebe Island sites. These included a 5,000t sugar-conditioning silo, a 45,000t storage silo, fourteen 2,000t silos, packaging plant and ship loader and unloader. The facilities are for the bulk storage and transport of refined white sugar. CSR New Farm Refinery, Brisbane — Refined Warehouse Packaging Station: Design, procurement, construction management, commissioning of sugar handling plant and packaging equipment for the upgrade of the New Farm Refinery. September1991 to February 1992 SeniorMechanical Engineer Final feasibility study for the Lihir Island gold project in Papua New Guinea. This study was carried out in San Ramon, San Francisco for Kennecott Mining/RTZ Company. My contributions included design, drawing review, specification preparation, and tender evaluation for mechanical aspects of the 2.825 Mt/a gold processing plant. July 1990 to September1991 SeniorMechanical Engineer,Kunwarara Preconcentrationand Beneficiation Plant Detail mechanical design of a 2.5 Mt/a magnesite ore crushing, screening, washing and grading facility for Queensland Magnesia (Operations) Pty Ltd. The plant included both low and high-grade heavy medium separation circuits. Capital value $11 million. ElectrofusionPlant- QMAG Preparationof plantconcept,engineering,procurementandconstructionmanagementfor the electrofusionplantlocatedinRockhampton,Queensland. The plantfeaturesspecially
  • 7. 7 | P a g e designedelectric-arcHigginsfurnacestomeltcausticcalcinedmagnesiaat28000 C, producinghighgrade fusedmagnesia forthe refractoryindustry. 1988 TO 1990 MINPROCENGINEERS PTY LTD Lead Engineer for the neutral leach, weak acid leach and pre-neutralisation plants for Pasminco Metals Electrolytic Zinc Refinery, Tasmania. Lead design engineer carrying overall responsibility for the design of the hydrometallurgical leaching plants. Plant design was undertaken concurrently in Brisbane over a two-year period by a multi-disciplined team of seventeen draftsmen and five engineers. Key achievements in this project were in the selectionof appropriate materialsincludingPVDFandFRPforthe acid service andthe design of the now world standard segmented FRP thickener covers. Capital value $26 million. 1982 TO 1988 EVANS DEAKIN INDUSTRIES LIMITED As DesignEngineer/Mechanical Plant, I wasinvolvedinthe preliminarydesignandpricingof the following mechanical plant: • Callide ‘B’ Power Station Coal Handling Plant • Fisherman Island Wheat Terminal at the Port of Brisbane • Brisbane Sugar Terminal at the Port of Brisbane. During this period, I was also appointed Area Engineer for Loy Yang ‘A’ Unit 2 Power Station Feedwater Heating Plant, in Victoria Australia. I was responsible for on-site design modifications, contractor supervision, progress claims, manpower planning and assisting in commissioning. Priorto mobilisingtosite,I carried out pipeworkdesignandstressanalysis, vessel and heater design, and condenser design utilising proprietary computer software including:  Ampol Refineries,Lytton,Brisbane— FCCUGas Tail Expansionproject: Detail designof pressure vessels,platformsandpipe supports. 1985 TO 1986 BROWN BOVERI CORPORATION, SWITZERLAND As Design Engineer/Process Plant, I underwent intensive applied training in the design of power plants and their components including: • thermal designforfeedwater heating and condensing plants, and co-generation plants; • thermal design of systems, feedwater heaters, direct contact heaters, condensers and coolers; • mechanical design of heat exchangers, condensers, water treatment plant and demineralisation plants.
