EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Dec 2014 – Dec 2015: Exxon Mobil Development Company
Contract Advisor, Odoptu 2 New Rig Build ExxonMobil Sakhalin Drill Team – Houston USA.
 Part of a Project Team responsible for issuing instructions, monitoring the work, specifically expediting long lead
equipment and certifying the Works of a new Land Drilling Rig build commissioned by ExxonMobil for their Sakhalin Island
operations. The work was undertaken by Keppel AmFels, Parker, NOV and others.
 Headed up a Team to advise management on the best suitable contracting strategy for the preparation of tender
documents for various procurement requirements.
o Given the state of the industry at that point in time higher management directive was that it was key to establish
what market savings could be realized by carrying out a tender campaign to possibly replace incumbent Service
Companies weighed against the cost of any such change.
o I was also involved in numerous negotiations with incumbent Services Companies to discuss rate reductions
across all the Rig lines on Sakhalin Island.
 One of my key roles that came out of the contracting strategy exercise was to carryout detailed negotiations to change out
the Service Company to supply Cement, Drilling Fluids and CRI Services. I was responsible for negotiations around the
rates, contract terms and conditions and project schedule including identifying program deliverables and milestones.
 Responsible for collating and issuing the weekly report and facilitating the weekly staff and contractor progress meetings.

Dec 2013 – Nov 2014: Exxon Mobil Development Company
Contract Specialist, ExxonMobil Russian Drill Team – Moscow, Russian Federation. (Joint Venture with Rosneft)
 Working in the Procurement Department I was heavily involved with the Marine, Logistics and Planning Teams to support
the drilling of University-1 the most Northerly Exploration Well drilled at the time, I was also heavily involved in strategy
and planning for operations to commence on a Deep Water Well in the Russian Black Sea.
 Due to the remote location and the window allowed us by the ice season of the University-1 Well we had a fleet of 13
vessels to support the operations in which I was involved in sourcing and administering the Agreements for.
 As well as the vessels I was responsible for administration, (developing Work Orders, resolving contractual issues ,
variations and claims as well as expediting equipment deliveries for the following Services:
o Farm Out Agreement and Winterization of the NAD Rig – The West Alpha.
o ROV services (spent time in Stavanger, Norway to conclude Contract Negotiations)
o Wellhead Services (spent time in Bergen, Norway to conclude Contract Negotiations)
o Rig Positioning
o Sea Bed Survey
o Shipping Agent
o Oil Spill Response
o Helicopters (for Black Sea Ops)
o Vessels (Black Sea Ops)
o Shorebase Services (Black Sea Ops)
o Directional Drilling
o Fishing and Rental Tools
o Wireline Services
o Etc.
 I was heavily involved in the very grey area of the tax status of the Kara Sea Project and spent a lot of time with Tax
experts trying to establish what the status of the Project was, this proved particular problematic as many of the suppliers
and service companies had stipulated that they’d bare no liability for taxes within the Russian Federation this led me to
having to negotiate many side Agreements particularly with the vessel owners.
 These projects in the Kara and Black Sea were curtailed when EU and USA sanctions against Russia came into force Q3
2014. The JV was granted a special extension to abandon and make safe the Kara Sea Well and when the rest of the
Team was disbanded I was one of the skeleton crew that was left behind to complete the task. My part in this was to liaise
closely with our JV Partner to finalize drafting all outstanding Work Orders and settling variations for our Suppliers and
Service Companies. This was an incredibly intense time in my career that saw us working right up to midnight deadline on
the final day of our license to close out the Project.
Oct 2009 – Nov 2013: Exxon Mobil Development Company
Contract Specialist, ExxonMobil Qatar Drill Team – Doha, State of Qatar. (Joint Venture with RasGas)
 After the conclusion of the Tendering Campaign for RasGas to support the Barzan Project I was taken on by ExxonMobil
to be imbedded in the Drill Team with the express intention of providing guidance and leadership in the execution of
contracts, supply chain and purchasing activities and to provide planning and monitoring function ensuring that
consistency was maintained.
 I was also to provide professional leadership, expertise and practical assistance on contractual matters to the engineers
and management of change/variations throughout the Operational Phase of Projects.
 To promote a professional attitude and approach with regards to implementation of the Corporate Procurement Policies
and Procedures and other procedures.
 To provide practical assistance all company departments in the development and maintenance of model contracts derived
from in-house experience, historical project data and regular reviews of a wide variety of existing contracts which are then
approved by Legal Department.
 Provide advice on contract implementation, contractual correspondence, commercial obligations and issues related to the
execution of Contracts to all staff.
 Special Project – RasGas Cyber Attack, part of a team that was tasked with establishing work around solutions so as off-
shore operations could continue while outside specialist came in to rebuild the IT systems.
 Special Project – Tasked with disposal of surplus materials. After drilling 120 off-shore wells there was a considerable
surplus inventory of equipment and material. The task took two parts, firstly getting with Engineers and establishing
spares that would allow us to drill two new wells in-case of any need for in-fill drilling or relief wells. Secondly tendering
the sale of all scrap and redundant material.
 Special Project – Tasked with looking at how on the conclusion of drilling operations and the Drill Team demobilizing out
of Qatar how best RasGas could carry out their ongoing and future Well Maintenance Operations. This involved me
meeting with all the major Service Companies to see if it was possible to ‘bundle-up’ the required service streams under
one contract.
