3. ABSTRACT
The aim of our work is to analyze and design of multi storied commercial
building according to Indian Standard codes.
The design methods used in ETABS analysis are Limit State Design
conforming to Indian Standard Code of Practice.
The results proved to be very accurate. We analyzed and designed a G + 5
storey building initially for all possible load combinations [dead, live,
wind and seismic loads].
We are mainly determining the effect of lateral loads on moment, shear
force, axial force, base shear, maximum displacement and tensile force on
the structural system are subjected and also comparing the result of
seismic zone 2,3,4 and 5.
4. INTRODUTION
Commercial buildings are buildings that are used for commercial purpose
and include office buildings, ware house, retail building, etc
For example:- convenience stores, big box store and shopping mall.
When space allocated to multiple function is significant, these building
can be called multistoried building.
5. AIM
The aim of our project is to analyze and design of multi storied
commercial building in such a way that it should meet the following
quality :
1. Safe
2. Economical
3. Modern facility
4. Earthquake resistance
5. Profitable
6. Luxurious
6. CODES
The project is designed as per Indian codes
IS 875 Part 1 for Dead Load
IS 875 Part 2 for Imposed Load
IS 875 Part 3 for Wind Load
IS 1893 Part 2 for Liquid Retaining Tanks
IS 456-2000 RCC Design Code

11. CONCLUSION
After obtaining ETABS Analysis and Design the results are seemed to
be more accurate when compared to manual design results. During the
project work many obstacles were faced to obtain error less ETABS output
.The future work can be carried in continuation of this work. The main
drawback of ETABS is Designing slabs is tedious job.
