2. Organization
Working as an ENGINEER in M/S. PRICOL LIMITED, COIMBATORE in Quality
Engineering deals with automotive products from Aug 05 to till now.
A brief about the company: -
• Pricol is auto ancillary part manufacturing company.
• Having its 7 units all round India.
• Its major customer is Bajaj, Maruthi, Tatamotors, General motors, Toyota, Hero,
Kawasaki, Yamaha, REML, TVS, JCB, Mahindra & Mahindra.
• Its major product is electronic instrument clusters for two wheelers, four wheeler,
Tractors & Commercial vehicles.
• Coimbatore plant is having two SMT line & one through line.
Roles & Responsibilities
In-process quality engineer:
• In charge for in-process Quality of SMT line.
• Conducting daily meeting with the Cross functional team.
• Analyzing on the defects & taking corrective action.
• Presenting the weekly / monthly performance of the line to the top
management.
• Participating in the new product introduction.
• Conducting audit on MSD & ESD compliance in the line.
• Preparation of process audit checklist.
• Planning activities with the quality inspectors.
• Attending customer complaints & giving corrective action reports.
3. • Participating in Preparing control plan & PFMEA for the new products and
initiating improvement product and process based on past failure data.
• Ensure collection data from each stage & calculating the process performance.
• Collection of past trouble data of products and providing data to design
department and initiating for corrective action at initial development stage.
• Participating in Internal PPAP run in production line and initiating improvement in
line setup for process & final inspection machine and ensuring the points are
closed before mass production.
• Participating in customer PPAP run in production line and ensuring the customer
improvement points are closed as per given time line.
• Verification of the new products as per the customer specification & ‘C’ drawing
and providing report to design team and initiating corrective action for defective
points.
• Verification of new product Bare PCB assembly for component placement as per
process standards (Flow & Reflow).
• Components used in new product are verified for capable of withstanding
selected assembly process method and make of component used is verified for
any previous complaint.
• Analysis of the Customer complaint and providing corrective action in the 8D
Reports.
• Conducting process audit at PCB assembly vendor place.
