2. Harris Publications • Harris publications distribute XXL, due to XXL being very
popular it would be good if they could also distribute mine,
as they clearly have the funds to distribute my magazine .
Not only this but they have also distributes 10 other
magazines similar to the genre of my magazine, clearly
showing understanding of who and where to distribute
their magazines effectively in order to gain success.
• Harris publication are also one of the largest distributing
music magazine companied in the USA selling over 285,000
copies every month. Due to their magazines mainly being
produced in USA. It would mean that my magazine would
capture a larger UK audience as well as audiences in the
USA.
3. Bauer media
• This is because bauer media reaches 19 million UK adults in the uk
across multiple media and adding a hip hop music magazine will
increase the about of young adults reading bauers media product
• Also because media has no hip hop music magazines on their market,
but instead have magazines such as smash hits, kerrang and Q. So
therefore adding a different music genre, will increase the amount of
people reading my magazine due to its success and in turn will increase
amount of people reading bauers media products as it has a worldwide
circulation for selling 38 million copies a week in 15 countries
• Baur media also have various other branches linking to their magaines
such as; heat radio, Q radio, Smash Hits! Radio and The Hits Radio
which are available on DAB and free view. So having a hip hop magazine
may encourage them to start a radio station which broadcasts hip hop
music in order to increase their overall sales of my magazine
4. IPC media
• This is because it is the UK’S leading consumer
magazine and digital publishers with a massive
portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year with
85 iconic print brands
• This institution also doesn’t have and hip hop music
magazines but instead has ‘’NME’’ and ‘’uncut’’ which
are punk rock/Britpop genres. Thus adding my media
product to their institution will increase sales for IPC
media because they will be targeting a much wider
audience, in this case 16-26 year olds (who read/listen
to hip hop).My magazine will also not clash with the
other two because they are different genres, which is
key to IPC making further success.
• I have chosen IPC to distribute my magazine as it has
partnerships with the big branded supermarkets, so
thus will widen the audience who will see my
magazine and potentially buy it, due to it being
compulsory to go to a supermarket increasing the
amount of people who will see my magazine.
