The projectCity Stars @ Sharm El Sheikh had started, since Jan 2015, MEP & Infrastructure as well
as Finishes and some remaining civil works with cost budgetof 800 Millions L.E.
The projectcivil works, alreadystarted by year 2008, had reached a phase of main utilities and infra
structure with considerable costbudgetthat aimed to be ended within this year. FairmontHotel &
Swiss Otel planned to be renovated and soft opening by mid years 2016 and 2017consecutively. The
projects encounters 4 R.O. desalination plants capacity 4500 cubic meter per day each serving phas
e 1 and 2 as well as 4 sewage treatmentplants capacity of 3000 cubic metres per day each. The infra
structure networks have a massive work for sewage, potable and non potable water, MV and LV el
ectrical cable networks and its related distributors and transformer rooms in addition to low curren
t networks.
Main building and centrallaundry and kitchen in addition to existing hotel rooms and staff accom
modation rooms constitute a massive MEP works for chilled water plants and its networks up to FC
Us and air side related to AHUs, Fire fighting and fire alarm, plumbing and electrical works have
considerable weight.
The projacs projectmanagementand construction managementteam is composed of 6 on site and 6
at head office. Being onsite acting P.M. for budgetof more than 300 Millions L.E. it constitutes a co
nsiderable challenge that I have been successfully reaching almost80% of the required targetprogr
ess within a year.

Firefightingsystems comprise2500sprinklersin addition to6 hydrants and 18 FHC as well as main F.F.
pump station havingelectrical,diesel and jockey pumps for main duty of 1000GPM@ 10 bar.
GRP Tanks capacities varyingfrom 300 cubic meters till 15 cubic meters weresupplied and installed serv
ing firefightingstoragerequirements as well as Domestic watertransfer pumps and its R.O.and filtratio
n units for water coolers use.
The project electrical load is 2.6 MW supported by twotransformers each ofcapacity 1.5 MW ,and distri
buted electrical loads arefulfilled through low voltagemain distribution boards and 5 MDBs and
10 SMDBs.
It worth mentioningthatchilled water system used pipes wereABS pipes (euro pipe) sizes startingas of
12 inch till feeding theAHUs & FAHUs water sidesizes 3 & 2 inch,thesystem was controlled through

pressureindependent control valvePICVs and controlled through BMS system tocontrol theflow accor
