A language game (also called secret language,
ludling, or argot) is a system of manipulating spoken
words to render them incomprehensible to the
untrained ear.
Language games are used primarily by groups
attempting to conceal their conversations from others.

8. Advantages:
Games are a welcome break from the usual routine of
the language class.
Learning a language requires a great deal of effort.

They can encourage students to draw on analysis,
synthesis, evaluation;
9. Disadvantages:
Some students may think games are a waste of time
and immature. Their body language and facial
expression will make this clear.
One student may be too competitive and make other
students uncomfortable.
Not all students may understand the game which can
cause frustration.
Someone can be a ‘bad loser’.
You spend ages planning a game, but the general class
vibe is: no games today
