internet and computers at
school?
Sub questions for each of the subtopics. Target group. 10 teenagers 14 year
olds.
1.How often and with what result do Ans: Most of the people said that their
you use computers and internet at
school?
children use the Internet and computers
oftenly at school for getting extra academic
knowledge and for learning new softwares
and programming languages like Java and
Blue Jay for the future.
Some of the parents also said that their
children are addicted to internet and social
media and didn’t want that to increase as
it distracts children from their study point
of view.
2. Do you do homework, projects,
compile a portfolio, do research, at, or
for school, digitally? Explain, give
examples.
Ans: Most of the adults said that their
children use a lot of internet for school
use. They use it for various project and
assignments. For eg. They spend a lot
of time finding extra information about
the topics taught in school.
The parents also mentioned that children
use some websites like
Wikipedia,Google,Youtube,etc. to gain
extra information and that this is
effectively helping well to perform well in
his academics.
Some other examples are for:- Projects on
Presentations ,research works,homework
and so on Digitally.
3. Does your school use smart boards? Ans: Many of our responses were Yes!
As smartboard is a new concept and is
just introduced, some people also said
“no”, but the number of “yes” exceeded
the negative responses.
Parents said that they liked this concept of
teaching as it was more effective than
textbooks.
Some parents said that they did not like
smartboards because they reduce the
normal interaction between the teacher
and student.
4. Are you allowed mobile phones at
school? What are the rules about their
use? How do you actually use them?
Ans: Majority of adults said that their
children are not allowed to use mobile
phones in the school. The ones who said
that the mobiles are allowed also added
that their children are allowed bring them
only on special occasions or on extra
classes. They also said that the mobile
phones should be brought in the school
only to contact their parents in the case of
emergency. Many of them told that it was
good children were not allowed because it
was not needed at this age and it would
distract them in class.
Some even said they were allowed to bring
it if needed for a project and other
important reasons.
5. Does the use of the computer always
improve the standard of the lesson?
What do you feel about there?
Ans: Most of the people said that computer
do improve the standard of lesson,
because the videos that are played on the
computer give an interactive way of
learning and give a clear understanding of
the topic.
Some of the people also said that books
are always better than computers.They
told that children should read more than
what they do on the computer and that
children even get too much addicted to the
social media and networking sites.
Well in an overview we can say that computers
really do improve the standard of the lesson.
6.What are the pros and cons of the
use of Smartboards ? What do you like
or dislike about them?
Ans: The pros:
 The students are able to enjoy
studies and it is even easy for the
teachers to convey their message
digitally.
 The new era is an era of modern
technology.The smartboard can also
store needed information for the
future.
 Some pupils are even saying ,copying
from the typings on the Smartboards
is easier than writing what the
teacher dictates.
The cons:
 The smartboards need a specific
setup and If you miss out the wire
that connectas it to the server or
laptop it becomes difficult to
operate.
 Even the shadow of a teacher
explaining that information falls on
the smartboard difficult to see the
text.
7. How does social media like:
Facebook, Whats app, Twitter and
Skype help in the life of students.
In your opinion is it a positive or
negative influence on the students.
Ans: Many parents replied that Social
media, social networking help a lot in
interacting with their friends and family at
a distance and people living far away from
them and told that it helps even in their
studies .For example if they miss some
notes one day they can ask a friend to send
a picture of it.
But at the end they all said that other than
for studies, the social media sites and
networks make children too addicted
towards them etc.
8.How do e-books and the latest kindle
help a student learn more effectively?
Ans: Many of the adults told that kindles
actually do help in improving reading
skills. Even the school’s library has the
new kindles the kindle paperwhite.
About E-books parents told that even they
wanted the schools to introduce study In I-
Pads and Tablets. They said that it wood
be more easy for a student as well as a
teacher to do their works.
Some said that it was not needed and that
the traditional way of learning was always
better.
9. What were the modes of digital
technology in the olden school life?
Ans:Many adults said that in their
childhood ,they did not get to enjoy all the
fun technology of the modern era.
That there weren’t any smartboards or
projectors existing at those times.They also
said that there would be one old computer
in their schools at the corner and that
everyone had to go one by one to have a
rare glimpse at it.
While the people who experienced it,had
told it that they very less compared to the
modern digital world.
Well, they are still proud that their
children get to study such a modern digital
world.

1.How often and with what result do
you use computers and internet at
school?
Ans: Most of the teenagers said that they
used it to get extra academic information,
know the ways of the modern digital world
and to get accustomed with the modern
technology.
One of them Jash Dalal even told that
Computers, Projectors, Smart boards help
make learning fun!
2. Do you do homework, projects,
compile a portfolio, do research, at, or
for school, digitally? Explain, give
examples.
Ans: Most of the students said that they
use internet to find information for their
homework and projects and for gaining
extra and efficient knowledge for the
improvement of their personal knowlegde.
For Example. Students go on Wikipedia
for the filing projects, to youtube for
educational videos.
But the thing is, some of the teenagers said
that they use internet more to watch
movies hear songs, and for social media
but rarely use it for information.
Many of them think it is a good way to
instantly transfer missed out class notes
and hence , helps them a lot!
3. Does your school use smart boards? Ans: Many of our responses were Yes!
Students said that they love watching
videos, animations and like the ideas of
softwares like Digitally and some other
important educational made softwares.
4. Are you allowed mobile phones at
school? What are the rules about their
use? How do you actually use them?
Ans: Most of the students said that their
schools do not allow them to use mobile
phones in the school. The ones who said
that they are allowed to use their phones
in the school, also added that they are only
allowed to bring it on some important
occasions like some celebration at school
or some important day like Children’s day
and like that.
Some even said they could bring it if
needed for a project and other important
reasons.
5. Does the use of the computer always
improve the standard of the lesson?
What do you feel about there?
Ans: Most of the pupils agreed that
computers improve the standard of lesson
An that the reason was, when they are
connected to a smart board they get a good
interactive educational package and helps
the following information get into their
memory as the animations and
presentations of the smartboard are really
creative and addictive so much that he
starts to actually remember what he is
thought. They all also felt that this is a
good way of teaching and felt that it was
more effective than textbooks.
Some also gave an opinion of theirs like
Shashwat Deep gave an opinion that even
e-books have helped students and teachers
find it more easy in the field of studies.

an 1 hour a day.

use their mobile
phones very
frequently for
being in touch with
friends and
relatives ,calls
,some apps and
social media and so
on.Majority of
them said that they
use it for about 2
hours a day.
Teenagers BOYS:
By the end of all
our interviews we
were able to find

boys:-
• They use
their mobile
phones a lot .These
days they need it
for Social media
,Text messaging
,calling ,playing
games and
others .Majority of
them said that they
use it for about 2
hours a day.
• Almost all of
Teenagers GIRLS:
By the end of all our
interviews we were
able to find the

in the girls:-
• They use
their mobile phones
a lot for the modern
social media
,mobile apps
,listening to music,
texting,calling and
many more .Most
of them said that
they use it for
about 3 hours a
day.

  • 3. you use computers and internet at school? children use the Internet and computers oftenly at school for getting extra academic knowledge and for learning new softwares and programming languages like Java and Blue Jay for the future. Some of the parents also said that their children are addicted to internet and social media and didn’t want that to increase as it distracts children from their study point of view. 2. Do you do homework, projects, compile a portfolio, do research, at, or for school, digitally? Explain, give examples. Ans: Most of the adults said that their children use a lot of internet for school use. They use it for various project and assignments. For eg. They spend a lot of time finding extra information about the topics taught in school. The parents also mentioned that children use some websites like Wikipedia,Google,Youtube,etc. to gain extra information and that this is effectively helping well to perform well in his academics. Some other examples are for:- Projects on Presentations ,research works,homework and so on Digitally. 3. Does your school use smart boards? Ans: Many of our responses were Yes!
  • 4. As smartboard is a new concept and is just introduced, some people also said “no”, but the number of “yes” exceeded the negative responses. Parents said that they liked this concept of teaching as it was more effective than textbooks. Some parents said that they did not like smartboards because they reduce the normal interaction between the teacher and student. 4. Are you allowed mobile phones at school? What are the rules about their use? How do you actually use them? Ans: Majority of adults said that their children are not allowed to use mobile phones in the school. The ones who said that the mobiles are allowed also added that their children are allowed bring them only on special occasions or on extra classes. They also said that the mobile phones should be brought in the school only to contact their parents in the case of emergency. Many of them told that it was good children were not allowed because it was not needed at this age and it would distract them in class. Some even said they were allowed to bring it if needed for a project and other important reasons. 5. Does the use of the computer always improve the standard of the lesson? What do you feel about there? Ans: Most of the people said that computer do improve the standard of lesson, because the videos that are played on the computer give an interactive way of learning and give a clear understanding of the topic. Some of the people also said that books are always better than computers.They told that children should read more than what they do on the computer and that children even get too much addicted to the
  • 5. social media and networking sites. Well in an overview we can say that computers really do improve the standard of the lesson. 6.What are the pros and cons of the use of Smartboards ? What do you like or dislike about them? Ans: The pros:  The students are able to enjoy studies and it is even easy for the teachers to convey their message digitally.  The new era is an era of modern technology.The smartboard can also store needed information for the future.  Some pupils are even saying ,copying from the typings on the Smartboards is easier than writing what the teacher dictates. The cons:  The smartboards need a specific setup and If you miss out the wire that connectas it to the server or laptop it becomes difficult to operate.  Even the shadow of a teacher explaining that information falls on the smartboard difficult to see the text.
  • 6. 7. How does social media like: Facebook, Whats app, Twitter and Skype help in the life of students. In your opinion is it a positive or negative influence on the students. Ans: Many parents replied that Social media, social networking help a lot in interacting with their friends and family at a distance and people living far away from them and told that it helps even in their studies .For example if they miss some notes one day they can ask a friend to send a picture of it. But at the end they all said that other than for studies, the social media sites and networks make children too addicted towards them etc. 8.How do e-books and the latest kindle help a student learn more effectively? Ans: Many of the adults told that kindles actually do help in improving reading skills. Even the school’s library has the new kindles the kindle paperwhite. About E-books parents told that even they wanted the schools to introduce study In I- Pads and Tablets. They said that it wood be more easy for a student as well as a teacher to do their works. Some said that it was not needed and that the traditional way of learning was always better. 9. What were the modes of digital technology in the olden school life? Ans:Many adults said that in their childhood ,they did not get to enjoy all the fun technology of the modern era. That there weren’t any smartboards or

Ans: Most of the teenagers said that they used it to get extra academic information, know the ways of the modern digital world and to get accustomed with the modern technology. One of them Jash Dalal even told that Computers, Projectors, Smart boards help make learning fun! 2. Do you do homework, projects, compile a portfolio, do research, at, or for school, digitally? Explain, give examples. Ans: Most of the students said that they use internet to find information for their homework and projects and for gaining extra and efficient knowledge for the improvement of their personal knowlegde. For Example. Students go on Wikipedia for the filing projects, to youtube for educational videos. But the thing is, some of the teenagers said that they use internet more to watch movies hear songs, and for social media but rarely use it for information. Many of them think it is a good way to instantly transfer missed out class notes and hence , helps them a lot!

Students said that they love watching videos, animations and like the ideas of softwares like Digitally and some other important educational made softwares. 4. Are you allowed mobile phones at school? What are the rules about their use? How do you actually use them? Ans: Most of the students said that their schools do not allow them to use mobile phones in the school. The ones who said that they are allowed to use their phones in the school, also added that they are only allowed to bring it on some important occasions like some celebration at school or some important day like Children’s day and like that. Some even said they could bring it if needed for a project and other important reasons. 5. Does the use of the computer always improve the standard of the lesson? What do you feel about there? Ans: Most of the pupils agreed that computers improve the standard of lesson An that the reason was, when they are connected to a smart board they get a good interactive educational package and helps the following information get into their memory as the animations and presentations of the smartboard are really creative and addictive so much that he starts to actually remember what he is thought. They all also felt that this is a good way of teaching and felt that it was

Teenagers BOYS: By the end of all our interviews we were able to find the following answers in the boys:- • They use their mobile phones a lot .These days they need it for Social media ,Text messaging ,calling ,playing games and others .Majority of them said that they use it for about 2 hours a day. • Almost all of Teenagers GIRLS: By the end of all our interviews we were able to find the following answers in the girls:- • They use their mobile phones a lot for the modern social media ,mobile apps ,listening to music, texting,calling and many more .Most of them said that they use it for about 3 hours a day. • Majority of the girls said that
