I was the Human Resources Manager for AAA Hoosier Motor Club from October 2007 through July
2015. Robin Pennington was hired approximately May 2011 as the Human Resources Assistant and she
reported to me until my departure in July 2015.
Robin’s strengths were in working directly with employees in person and on the phone. She is
personable, trust worthy and eager to assist. These skills were perfect for her responsibilities of new
hire orientation, training and recruiting. I was impressed with the level of trust she established with
employees. This was especially important when working with the Fleet Drivers. This group of
employees was particularly challenging and Robin made them at ease and went the extra mile to assist
them. Robin took the lead in creating a customer service training course for the Fleet employees. She
presented and administered this required training monthly. She also had to provide extra care when
explaining insurance benefits to them.
Recruiting was also a large part of her responsibility. She sourced and pre-screened applicants along
with setting up numerous job fairs. We worked many job fairs as a team and she had the right
personality to reach out to candidates with enthusiasm.
All the managers she worked with were impressed by her work ethic and I considered her to be my right
hand. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and would recommend her for any position she was
considering.
