Commercial photography involves taking pictures
for commercial use: for example in adverts,
merchandising, and product placement.
Commercial photography is also used in corporate
brochures and leaflets, menus in cafes and
restaurants, and similar commercial uses where
photographs enhance a text. Commercial
photography is used to promote or sell a product or
service.
Commercial photography is a varied field and,
although it covers a wide range of subject matters,
it must always enhance the portrayal of the client's
products, services, personnel or location.

What is Advertising Photography?
Advertising Photography means taking a photograph to

photographs are mainly used by advertising agencies to
market a product.

brand. Its a clever way to advertise a
product sometimes.
Studio work is common for editorial
work although, as you can see from
the image on the right, sometimes
editorial work can be in an outside
setting.

He works for certain
models more than one e.g.
Naomi Campbell & Kate
Moss. He has also worked
with celebrities such as
Lady Gaga for magazine
covers and interviews.

produces most of his work
in a studio.
