2. INTRODUCTION:-
Its refers to disease of the blood vessels (arteries and
veins) located outside the heart and brain. A circulatory
condition in which narrowed blood vessels reduce blood
flow to the limbs.

5. CAUSES AND RISK FACTORS:-
•Atherosclerosis
•Hypertension
•Raynaud’s disease
•Buerger’s disease
•High cholesterol
•Smoking
•Diabetes mellitus

6. •Renal disease
•Inflammation of leg
•Pregnancy
•Increasing age above 50years

7. PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
Due to etiological factors
Arterial stenosis
Insufficient blood supply
Ischemia
Peripheral vascular disease

8. CLINICAL MANIFESTATION:-
Burning pain in hands fingers, feet
Tingling in hand and foot
Numbness
Weakness
Coldness in legs
Color change in feet
Hair loss
Weak pulse in arteries

9. DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION:-
Doppler ultrasonography
Cold stimulation test
Magnetic resonance angiography
Blood test

10. MEDICAL MANAGEMENT:-
•Anticoagulant medicine – heparin
•Cholesterol lowering drug- statins
•vasodilators
•Calcium channel blockers
•Medicine that increase blood supply to extremities-
cilostazol

11. SURGICAL MANAGEMENT:-
•Angioplasty
•Reconstructive surgery
•amputation
