Tech Startup Growth Hacking 101 - Basics on Growth Marketing
Q4
1. How did you use media technologies in
the construction, research & planning,
and evaluation stages?
2. • One of the key pieces of online technology that was used whilst
completing our coursework task was blogger. This blogging software
which was easily accessible via google was what made it easy for us to
share our work and upload tasks as soon as they were completed. As
well as this, this software made it easy to get feedback from others on
our ancillary tasks as they could just simply comment via blogger as
long as they had a google account. Thus meaning that people who
don’t have a blogger account could still contribute to the blog and
add their views.
3. Using Whatsapp messenger via our smartphones and
creating a group chat made it easier to communicate with
other members of the group, in order to arrange shoot
dates, meeting days and to discuss certain aspects of the
film trailer. This piece of media meant that less time would
have to be spent contacting each and every single person as
one message from each person from the group would reach
everyone instantly. This was very useful as it saved time and
made it easy to contact actors as well as our film crew.
4. • YouTube was very helpful when finding trailers to analysed
and to find inspiration from, we used these trailers to
identify the codes and conventions.
YouTube makes it very accessible to find trailers ad big film
companies use this site to upload trailers and spoilers to
their millions of subscribers.
Tutorials on YouTube were also helpful in producing a
production logo, film title and credits.
5. Photoshop/ After Effects
• These where the main softwares which where used in actually forming the
trailer, it having similar effects to the softwares used by the big production
companies made it easy for us to try and replicate some of the big time
trailers.
Adobe software was the main platform for the overall construction, this
included Photoshop, Premiere and After effects. Photoshop was used
mainly for the bases of the construction of the poster and magazine.
Premiere Pro was used to place all the footage taken in order to choose
what shots were more appropriate, than others. The ability to control
sound and often mute it, what also available, making room to add music
that would fit the genre. Essentially premiere pro was used to construct the
entire trailer.
6. CANON DSLR
• Our director of photography spent a lot of time practising filming in
order to get the best quality shots as we were all quite inexperincied
with such technology
• The use of a DSLR camera was very important whilst creating our
trailer as this was used to film and also to take photos for our ancillary
tasks. This combined with other camera objects such as a Steadicam,
shoulder rig, tripod and lights all worked together to create the actual
visual part of the project.
