4. Introduction
 A study has been Conducted in Rathyatra locality,
Varanasi to analyze the household waste disposal
behavior of the people.
 we have done a field survey to get the response from
the people regarding their ways of disposing off
household wastes.

 To study the human behavior regarding household
waste disposal of Rathyatra Locality, Varanasi city.

Primary Data collection method – Questionnaire
Sample size- 40
Sampling – Convenience Sampling
All questions have a same kind of rating irrespective of
their options. For example (1,2,3……).
Field Survey- we have done a field survey in Rathyatra
locality ,Varanasi.

Please suggest how people should dispose of household waste?
We had got following suggestion
 1. Use of dustbin
 2. Making people aware
 3. Don’t dump in rivers
 4. Proper places for dustbin
 5. Not using of polythene bags
 6. Complaining to local civic bodies
 7. Separation of dry and wet
 8. Recycling of waste.

26. Suggestions from respondents
 The municipal corporation must take their responsibility
seriously for waste collection from the area.
 People must be aware of disposal of their household waste.
 Municipal corporation must initiate cleanness campaign to
aware people.
 Municipal workers must come on daily base to collect
waste.
 The use of plastic ,polythene bags must be minimized
alternative options must be adopted such as Jute begs and paper
bags.
 People must complain about the improper disposal of waste.

27. Conclusion
 50% of the people use plastic begs for disposing off their household
waste.
 62.5% people says that people of their locality disposing of waste in
improper manner.
 80% of the people have not ever complain of improper waste
disposal in the area.
 People segregate hazardous waste but treat at usual waste. They do
not dispose them in the proper manner.
 The major household waste constitute about 57% i.e. Kitchen waste
followed by plastic waste 27%.
 87 % people says that their own practice of disposal of waste
material of the household will educate them to do so.
