This document presents the results of a survey conducted by Grade XI students at Amity International School on environmental issues. It finds that air pollution, climate change, and traffic are seen as the major threats to the environment. Around 60% of respondents have taken actions to protect the environment like planting trees or conserving energy. Most agree they are willing to make sacrifices but fewer would quit polluting jobs. Over half participate in campaigns while many use energy efficient lights but fewer adopt alternatives like public transport, cycling, or buying organic food.

measures to protect the environment whereas
40% are yet to do so.
• Some of the measures taken include –
1. Planting trees on their birthdays.
2. Switching of lights and fans when not in use.

7. • 62% of the people are willing to make
personal sacrifices to protect the environment
but, ironically, just 26% of them are ready to
quit their job if it causes any harm to the
environment.
• 72% of the people feel that the balance of
nature is very delicate but 8% of the people
feel that nature is strong enough to cope with
all these activities.

9. • 54% of the people have taken part in campaigns
regarding protection of environment, 80% of the
people buy energy efficient lights and around
90% of them save electricity buy turning off lights
when unused, 60% of the people use public
transport as well.
• But, 60% of the people do not buy organic food
and 64% of the people do not walk or cycle to
work.
