Experience –
1978 – 1982.
I started my career as graduate engineer trainee at the 600 MW Power Station of
Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd. Tamilnadu, during the year 1978. I was in the
‘Boiler Operations Department’ of one of the oldest but most successfully operated
lignite fired thermal power stations in India.
Subsequently, I joined the Central Planning Department of ACC-Babcock Ltd. at
Durgapur, West Bengal for a brief period.
I joined National Thermal Power Corp. Ltd (NTPC) during the year 1981 at its
Singrauli Super Thermal Power Project. I worked in the ‘Planning and Systems
Department’. My responsibilities included Project Monitoring, coordination among
various departments, system development, planning etc. Singrauli Thermal Power
Project of NTPC was commissioned in a timely manner. The green field power
project was built to become a very successful power station.
May 1982 – May 2007.
In order to accept bigger challenge, I joined Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL)
during the year 1982 for its 2X120MW Tripoli West Power Project at Libya executed
on turnkey basis. I was involved in the operation of the power station.
I have been posted at the following BHEL Project sites for commissioning of thermal
and combined cycle power plants. I was involved in Boiler and HRSG commissioning
activities.
 Panipat Thermal Power Project – Unit V (I X 210 MW).
 Ropar Thermal Power Station – Unit V & VI (2X210 MW), Ropar, Punjab.
 WHRP-DESU (6HRSGs & 3 Steam Turbines) (3 X 34 MW) New Delhi.
 GHTP Lehramohbat, Bhatinda (2x210MW) Bhatinda, Punjab.
 IOCL Mathura : Co-Generation Power Plant. (GT 2 and HRSG 2).
 Suratgarh TPS Unit II RRVUNL : (1 X 250 MW) Suratgarh, Rajasthan.
 Kota TPS Unit VI RRVUNL : (1 X 195 MW) Kota, Rajasthan.
 IOCL Panipat : 4 X 30 MW GTGs; 4 X 110 TPH HRSGs; 2 X 230 TPH Boilers.

2. I was involved in commissioning of Boiler, HRSG along with associated Auxiliary
Systems and Balance of Plant (BOP) Packages in the above projects.
Commissioning of Boilers / HRSGs is my core competence.
Apart from the power projects mentioned above, I have also participated in the
commissioning activities of many other power projects of BHEL on short duration
deputations. I have also participated in trouble shooting missions on many occasions
during the period from 1989 to 2007. I can carry out the commissioning activities for
any Combined Cycle and Thermal Power Project with a suitable and balanced team.
I have carried out erection audit of Piping System and subsequently floated and
charged the Piping Systems at refinery projects.
I have participated in activities related to post commissioning stabilization of power
plant Units and start up operations after major overhaul / renovation of power plant
units.
I can also participate in preparation of project specific commissioning procedures
and conduction of Performance Guarantee Tests.
I can travel extensively at a very short notice. Commissioning normally being a short
duration activity, I can participate in multiple projects through short duration
deputations to multiple projects where commissioning activities are to be carried out.
This will ensure savings in manpower.
I can organise and participate in imparting training to officials of client / customer.
I also have the exposure to the procedures of working as LSTK contractor in
refineries at IOCL Mathura and IOCL Panipat in India.
May 2007 Onwards.
I was posted in the Project Execution Group of International Operations
Division, BHEL N.Delhi since May 2007. My basic responsibility was Project
Management and Execution from the point of signing of contract and receipt of
contractual advance till receipt of Final Acceptance Certificate (FAC) and return of all
contractual Bank Guarantees.
I was earlier assigned the responsibility of project management of the turnkey
4XFr9E Sulemaniah Gas Power Project, Kurdistan, Iraq and the 2XFr5 Gas Turbine
Generator, supply and supervision contract at HICO(ORPIC) Project, (Mina Al Fahal
Refinery), Muscat, Oman. All the units of these two projects are commissioned and
operating at base loads. I acquired extensive export related experience of project
execution like shipment of materials, invoicing complying with the Letter of Credit
conditions, interaction with foreign banks, providing inputs for timely completion of
milestones, raising alarm for avoidance of delay, coordination with all concerned,
expediting supplies from vendors, handling of foreign customers etc.

3. I have participated as fact witness and aware of the process of ICC Arbitration.
I have long exposure to construction and commissioning activities of Thermal and
Combined Cycle Power Projects and all aspects of project monitoring, management
etc. prior to my superannuation from the services of BHEL on 24th
December 2014.
I am willing to work on fixed term contract basis.
