Since 2005, Amazon has been delivering products to its customers by way of its own
delivery service appropriately named: Amazon Logistics. The service began as a pilot
program more than 10 years ago in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City, but
has expanded to nearly every major city in the US; it is still only available in the
United States.
Amazon Logistics
Amazon Logistics aims to provide shoppers with an alternative same-day delivery
shipping option. These perks are available for Prime members but non-members can
reap the benefits for an added cost.
Deliveries are made seven days a week, throughout the day and include early
mornings and late evenings, which is ideal for packages that require a signature.
Delivery drivers are treated like third-party service providers who are contracted
through Amazon.
Amazon has positioned the program as an investment opportunity for entrepreneurs
to become Delivery Service Partners (or DSPs for short).

•Managing up to 40 vans and 100 employees

and $300K.

Zomato is an Indian restaurant aggregator and food delivery start up founded by
Deepinder Goyal in 2008. Zomato provides information, menus and user-reviews of
restaurants, and also has food delivery options from partner restaurants in select
cities. As of 2019, the service is available in 24 countries and in more than 10,000
cities. Zomato was founded as Foodiebay in 2008. It was renamed Zomato in 2010.
In 2011, Zomato expanded across INDIA to Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai,

•To strengthen its logistics services, restaurant listing and food delivery company
Zomato has acquired last mile logistics startup Runnr for an undisclosed amount.
Zomato’s founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal announced the acquisition in a blog post.
The Economic Times pegs the deal at $40 million. Runnr’s founder and CEO Mohit
Kumar will continue to run the company along with his team and founding members.

building a delightful food delivery service in India and UAE — end to end — listings,
