5. In Spanish isn’t necessary to write always
these subject pronouns because the verb
ending indicates who is doing the action.

6. Their most common uses are:
 For emphasis or contrast:
▪ Yo tengo 14 años pero tú tienes 12.
 To make clear who is being referred to:
▪ Pablo y Pili son hermanos. Él va al colegio y ella va a la
Universidad.
 In the case of usted (singular) / ustedes (plural)
▪ ¿Tiene usted una lista de hoteles?

7. In Spanish there are two ways to translate
‘you’.

8. Use tú when talking to someone (one person)
of your own age or to someone in your family.
Use vosotros when talking to more than one
persona of your own age or to your relatives.
