- 2. • New Coronavirus 2019 variants are emerging at an increasing rate, causing people to fear another lockdown due to high infection rates. In previous years, international rules have waived IP registrations such as patents in response to emergency situations such as a pandemic (Nature, 2022). Such restrictions would have an impact on vaccine production by having to reveal how the vaccine works, which would otherwise incentivize companies if they had a patent for their invention. • There are numerous approaches to developing a vaccine, including using a whole-microbe of virus that is inactivated or attenuated and can be injected into the body, vaccine methods that use the infectious part of the microbe, and others that use genetic materials in the virus that can be injected into the body (WHO, 2021). Most of these vaccine development methods necessitate a lengthy development period and clinical trials, which are inappropriate in high infection rate scenarios.
- 3. • Suggestive Solution: • Nanoparticles can be used to encapsulate virus genetic information. If the lipid-nanoparticles are injected into the body, the encapsulated genetic materials can be released, eventually forming antibodies. This method can be used to accelerate the COVID vaccine's development and clinical trials.
