Continued on a year on year basis to improve Final Functional Test, reducing the Warranty
rate from about 10% (1993) to around 0.2% (target 2016 1600 PPM).
Improved design and equipment used for automated Final Functional Test [FFT] (mechanical
concept, wiring & Programs [LabVIEW, MS Visual C++]), by improving the modularity of both
fixturing and test programs.
Mentored other Test Methods Engineers, and Apprentices to improve their capability and
effectiveness in the department.
Supported Production, to ensure that equipment failures, breakages or staffing challenges,
had minimal effect on the final customer.
Reduced customer escapes by understanding challenges found by Product services and
imreased test coverage.
Influenced R&D on New Product Introduction to improve product Built In Test (BIT) reducing
FFT Test times, without loss of robustness. (Equivalent test times: - 2001: 151s; 2016: 91s)
Prevented/reduced delay caused through component obsolescence by supporting the R&D
sustainment team effort to maintain product availability & test capability.
