Term: Feb. 1981 through June 1989
Tasks: Constructed prototypes of circuit designs from schematics prepared by the engineer.
Articles constructed were required to be at an acceptable level of quality for delivery to
customers. Damn salesmen would sell my prototypes and I would have to make another one.
Salesmen.... Responsinilities included production planning, parts purchasing, trade shows.
Customer technical support at all levels (phone, in person at shop or customer site). Developed
training material for UNIX utilities and taught/mentored staff and external clients. Wrote test
procedures, mentored staff in troubleshooting and use of lab equipment. Developed embedded
firmware for Motorola microprocessors (6803/6809/6811) for data communications and wire
harness testing devices. Obtained CSA and FCC etc. type approvals for several products during
pre-production phase of product development. Wrote several product user manuals and some
promotional material, Attended industry trade shows, provided technical support to sales staff.
