2. FRAME 1
This first shot establishes for the audience
that the video is going to take place on a
street. There are quite a few people in the
background which shows it is quite busy
and it looks like a side road off a town so is
slightly more run down than some other
places would be. This is unexpected to see
as an opening shot because normally
things tend to be filmed in nicer places.
3. FRAME 2
In this frame, there is text on the screen
which shows the audience the band name
and also the title of the song, this is very
important in a music video so people know
what they are watching and who it is by.
They have used an orange font for this
because the album that this song is from
features a lot of colours and also they have
tried to find one that doesn’t make it too
difficult to read with the multitude of
colours in the background.
4. FRAME 3
This is the first time that the audience will
have seen the artist which is important in a
video. Straight away they will be able to
tell that this is a performance music video
because he has started to sing and is also
loaded up with a lot of instruments. This
creates a sense of fun because already in
the background people are turning to
watch because it is unlikely for you to see
someone walking down a road dressed like
this.
5. FRAME 4
There is already a crowd forming that
are watching the performance and he is
singing to members of this crowd which
makes it more personal rather than just
out to a whole crowd of people. As he is
turning to face other people it feels as
though when he is facing to the camera
the audience will feel as though he is
facing them. This is a common technique
but not often used to sing to people also
in the video
6. FRAME 5
The rest of the band is now seen and they
are all dressed with multiple instruments
on them which makes all the other shots
of just Chris match in. They are also
linking in the bright colours from their
album with the umbrellas and the
balloons. They are also now against a
more colourful background in contrast to
the plain street. This is during the first
chorus of the song and this is whenever
the whole band are seen together.
7. FRAME 6
In this frame the audience can still see the
artist performing and in the background
there is a previous video of theirs playing
on several tv screens within a shop. This
links to their other music videos and bring
them all together a bit more. This is a
slightly different shot rather than face on
like the others have mainly been, however
it is still a medium/long shot that is seen
throughout most of the video.
8. FRAME 7
Towards the end of the music video it can
be seen that their journey lead to a large
crowd of people which they were going to
be performing in front of. The bright
colours that they have been carrying can
now be seen a bit more clearly and unlike
all the other medium/long handheld shots
that the audience have seen they then get
this extreme long crane shot, showing how
large the crowd is. For the first time the
camera crew and security can now be
seen.
9. FRAME 8
This shot once again shows the large
crowd that have formed to listen to the
band perform and, as well as all the bright
colours to link with their current album,
behind the band mascots from some of
their previous videos can be seen which
have become recognisable with the band’s
music.
10. FRAME 9
The final shot shows the sort of concert
feeling that they are trying to capture. The
colours are also brightened to make it seem
sunny and this links once again with the
whole design for their latest album. The
shot of being in the centre of the crowd
looking past other people to look towards
the band gives the feeling that the audience
are in the crowd as well making it more
personal for each audience member.
