2. Masthead
In my masthead, my models head is covering part of the
name of the magazine which I have seen in a lot of
popular magazine, I used this to use realistic forms of
how the masthead looks. Also there is a slogan on the
side of the masthead which is “raise the” – this challenges
forms of real media products because most of their
slogans would be something like ” the worlds popular hip
hop magazine” so I changed my slogan to make it more
catchy and it would be remembered.
Model
I dressed my model to follow the conventions of a real
media product by analysing the typical attire of the front
cover hip hop models. I noticed that they have a hipster
look to them and they look very modern. I made my
model wear a hoody and a bandana which follow the style
of the famous legendary hip hop artist „Tupac‟. The
audience will notice this and will be attracted to it Website & barcode
I inserted the website near the
barcode because it follows what
real media products have on the
front cover its also use of media
convergence so it will get more
known

3. Logo
On the top left corner of the contents page is the
magazine logo which is what most magazines have
on their contents page so it uses the main
conventions of real products
Date and issue number
Most real magazine product have the date and
issue number on the contents page so by putting
that on my contents page, I‟m using real magazine
conventions
Contents
In my contents, the cover story is highlighted more
than other stories in the column because it needs
to stand out. This is a convention used in a lot of
real magazines
Image
There are 2 images on the contents page compared
to where there a one image on the contents page
on most magazines. This challenges real music
magazine convention forms

4. Quotes
There are quotes on my double page spread
which is a form of convention that most
magazine double page spread‟s use. So it will
not be something different that people are
used to be seeing on most hip hop
magazines.
Cover Story
My cover story is about a young teenager that
is making a breakthrough in the hip hop
industry through the struggle in his life. This
will attract a lot of young audiences because
they come under the category of being
aspirers so they can relate to this and so they
will be interested in reading this. This
challenges the usual cover stories on most
magazines because they are more about
famous mainstream artists rather than
upcoming underground artists Text
I have used a lot of typography in my
text as there is a lot different sizes of
text throughout my DPS. This will be
good because people are used to seeing
different sizes of text in a magazine
