• Colouring of the Masthead and Subheadings will relate

How will the codes and conventions appeal to the target
audiences interests
• The Images will be of relevance to the main topics on the cover
and will be visible
• The Font will be sized depending on the importance. For example,
the Masthead being the largest piece of text and the Sub-heading
being smaller and bullet pointed.
• The cover will have bold coloured fonts to exaggerate the
importance with other contrasting fonts for other less important
pieces of text
• The cover will also be conventional with readers being able to read
left to right
• The cover will be an easy read with it not being too overcrowded
and straught to the point
Composition of contents page
• Will text be clear for the readers and important topics more visible
than others
• Consider placement of text, does it maake sense?
• Are the colours of the images and text clashing making it hard to
read?
• Contents page will have sub-headings, so topics are clear for the
reader

Codes and Conventions of Current
Affairs magazines:
• Masthead- Largest piece of text on the
cover as it’s the most important. The text
should also be in bold to make it stsnd out
• Coverlines- Links to the contents page and
is in a conventional place below the main
title
• Main Image- The image will take up the
majority of space on the cover and will be
attractive to the readers. It will have
relevance to all of the relevant topics
• Main Coverline- Gives the reader intel on
the latest news
